ClipCube ClipCube

The best text only clipboard extender 4 stars
Ignore old reviews. Specifically the only thing that "deletes everything" is the 'Clear Clipboard' options on a drop-down. Assuming you don't want to capture images of any kind, then ClipCube is superb at capturing text, editing it within the UI, and converting instantly to pure text if you wish, with no formatting, by using one button in the editor. You can categorise your clips (called 'Notes') by using 'Tags', preserve general clips within the Scratchpad by moving items there from the clipboard, and there's a separate area for copied URL's. You can create a new 'Note' in the Scratchpad, delete clips, and copy existing ones to the clipboard. For me the new feature I love is the 'pop-up'. You can trigger this by using a 'customized' hot key. Clipboard, Scratchpad, and Tagged clips are all available from a drop-down in the pop-up and, a single click on a clip will instantly paste it to the current active window text field. The pop-up is neat, unobtrusive and can be pinned to the front or allowed to vanish after a paste operation. Apart from more flexibility with sorting lists and hot-key combinations (which they're working on), personally I don't need any more and I find it very hard to criticize - especially when it's genuinely free, has an informative website and a user forum with no spam! ClipCube's features are quite well hidden, so please read the manual on the web-site and explore the product properly. BTW, I am NOT affiliated with ClipCube in any way whatsoever. Price: Free
