I discovered this Win32 email application back around 2004 when it had only 12 the features it has today. Our enterprise was smaller and I was looking for a simple email program to run in-house. WinMail Server was extremely inexpensive, and had all the features I needed at the time. Now, 6 years later, we have grown to over 100 employees and WinMail Server has had multiple upgrade releases. It now has virtually all of the important features needed by a larger enterprise. From IMAP, FTP and LDAP support to excellent http-based webmail - all with available SSL security, plus a surfeit of spam filtering options. It's been a great package to use. WinMail Server also comes with the versatile open-source anti-junkmail tool, SpamAssassin.
Another plus? You only pay for what you use. We upgraded 2 or three times to add additional mailboxes. The bottom line for us is this: we currently have 250 mailboxes available, and our outlay has been a good bit less than 1000.00 Considering the reliablity and performance we have received, it's been an incredible bargain.
I do have one critique; the authors of this application are clearly not native English speakers. As such, some of the documentation and coded menu information has unusual syntax. They could benefit from a doc rewrite in a few spots. That said, I have not had a problem deciphering them to this point. At their current price point, they probably can't afford professional translation anyway! Highly recommended.
