SpywareBlaster SpywareBlaster

Very easy to use 5 stars
This is the 3rd spyware related freeware program I have tried (and reviewed) here at Snapfiles. Let me first say that SpywareBlaster is not exactly what I am looking for: I want a program to scan/report/fix and then go away, something I can run manually. I could not find a scan function in this program. It wants to run all the time and protect my (and your) browser proactively. If that is what you want then I would recommend this program based on my limited interaction with it. The user interface is extremely easy to comprehend and you are not overwhelmed by confusing options. Very clean interface. Inspires confidence, makes you feel likes its creators know what they are doing. Price: Free

Spybot Search and Destroy (Free) Spybot Search and Destroy (Free)

Non-intuitive and heavy 1 stars
Reminds me of a M$ program in that it is bloated and full of hard to understand and probably unwanted features. For example, I changed some advanced settings and received no confirmation. It installs itself deeply. Definitely not simple, light, easy, clean, or intuitive. I would a program that finds and lists problems, offers me some options on how to proceed, then verifies results of actions taken- all with an easy to understand interface. This program is not that. Finally, it will not allow you to uninstall without begging for a second chance and asking you to submit your thoughts to its homebase. Never seen any other program do that. Price: Free

CCleaner CCleaner

Easy to use; cleans deep 5 stars
Cleanup function: Very easy understand interface. Gives good information about what it is doing on your PC. Cleans junk files deeply - got 1GB on my PC and 1.3 GB on my sister's. Fast....Registry problems function: Does not dig very deep compared to 2 others I tried here at SnapFiles, however, the issues it finds are most likely safe to "fix". But the Registry cleanup is not the main purpose of CCleaner....If you use more than one user account on your PC then you must run CCleaner for each account, it does not act globally....I Cleaned junk files and fixed Registry issues on 4 accounts (2 PCs) with no problems. CCleaner does its job then goes away when you tell it to. Price: Free
