Vinade Reminder Vinade Reminder

A one-trick pony 2 stars
If all you want is to send yourself reminders via email or SMS and you want to be able to do it 24/7, this is the program for you. If, however, you want the options to have the program not start with Windows and run only when you need it, enter reminders without going through a hand-holding wizard, maintain notes or a task list, or fully edit the text and timing of previously entered reminders, look to Essential PIM or UK Kalendar instead. UK`s Kalender UK`s Kalender

Good at what it does 4 stars
UK Kalendar is one of the best freeware calendar/task/reminder programs available. It's very easy to use, and has powerful and flexible repetition and search features and an (essential to me) reminder snooze feature. The interface isn't as pretty as some, but it's straightforward. The one critical feature it's lacking is a daily schedule view, preferably with the task list visible. The month and week views simply aren't enough for managing a full schedule, though it would likely be more than adequate for maintaining a family or workgroup calendar. Price: Free

EssentialPIM Free EssentialPIM Free

Almost a dream pim 5 stars
I've tried a lot of PIMs, task managers, and reminders through the years -- even built my own when I couldn't find one to do what I needed. Essential PIM is one of the best, with an intuitive interface, just the right features (calendar with useful views, to-do list, reminders with snooze, notes, contacts, password protection), a portable version, and no clunky add-ons that don't fit a PIM. If only it had the ability to limit events to specific days of the week and email reminders (pro only), it'd be perfect. Price: Free
