After using ShirusuPad, I stopped looking for another desktop notes utility. Why? Because it's only using 0.7 MB of WinXP memory! Small memory footprint? Try microscopic. Heck, Realplayer and Winamp system tray icons use more memory than that, and the players aren't even running! Everything else I tried used 1 - 15 MB.
Shirusupad sports unlimited notes, tabbed notes window, alarm reminders, to do lists, alphablending (transparent windows), color schemes, hot zones, clickable links, automatic clipboard capture, no registry entries, delete directory to uninstall, blah blah blah. My only complaint is that interface customization is not so easy. There is a settings dialog with several tabs for the main features, but you need to edit the .ini file to set specific colors and change fonts (which you will want to do since the defaults are quite small). Shirusupad is one of my top 5 productivity tools.
