Simply the best 5 stars by AmitKB Jul 25, 2014 (Read all my 8 reviews)
I have been using this feed reader for over 4 years for instant notifications and it works great. Interesting thing is that I tried to switch some popular one but could not found better than this one and had to switch back. I like its simple design. show Review details
The one to use 5 stars by gimpguy Mar 22, 2013 (Read all my 1159 reviews)
Feedreader is not extremely flashy (thankfully)but has more than enough options to satisfy. Basically, in my opinion, it's perfect. Other readers have acquired a taste for spyware, adware, simply not supported or bloated, Feedreader has none of this. It was more than easy to import my old OPML feed list. Feedreader does have pop up notifications of new feeds which may be nice for some, I don't like that so it was as easy as unchecking the box in options, no more pop up notification. Adding a new feed is easy, the interface is great, basic options for layout, easy to read and get around. This is what I've been looking for and up until this point, I had given up on readers for the reasons mentioned above, I am happy to have my rss feeds back and happy to use Feedreader for it. show Review details
Very solid RSS reader 5 stars by calchas Mar 15, 2009
After endless searching, I have found the one. Feedreader is technically solid, fast, and elegant, powered by Firebird SQL. Updating is rapid, and tailored for minimum bandwidth use. The program runs fine in Windows Vista. It supports RSS/Atom/RDF/OPML. It's easy to add feeds. They can be arranged in folders, allowing the user to create categories (folders) like "computer security" integrating stories based on feeds, tags, keywords, or other options. A number of viewing options are available, although the default is excellent. Full documentation resides at feedreader.com. Changing the reading font is not easy. For the folder and navigation panes, you can hand-edit the INI file. See the FAQ list for details. For the reading pane, you can change the default font in IE. To disable Javascript and ActiveX, edit the INI. It cannot easily run as a portable app, though documentation outlines the steps necessary. The database can be changed to MySQL. Great program. show Review details
