Fantastic diagnostic 5 stars by Barney Jan 27, 2009 (Read all my 4 reviews)
This is a great diagnostic. I was about to toss my 80 gig Maxtor, this program told me it was perfect. What I like best is the functionality of it, and the user friendly interface. Thanks for this great little program. :-) show Review details
Excellent and useful drive testing program 5 stars by northwoods Nov 10, 2007 (Read all my 3 reviews)
I've used this for about 4 years. Nicely written, self contained program. Performs drive throughput and access time tests with graphical results. Also shows Drive temperature, UDMA mode, model number, firmware version, serial number, and more. Displays drive SMART data and can do fast or more detailed error scans to check for bad sectors. It does not repair them, it shows you where they are on the drive and how many, if any. Use the new CHKDSK in window Vista to scan for and update the bad sectors list if needed. This program has a simple and effective tabbed layout. show Review details
Indespensible for testing a suspect drive. 5 stars by Griffin Oct 24, 2007 (Read all my 11 reviews)
Finds bad sectors when chkdsk says the drive passes. The bad sectors are there - chkdsk, for all its good points, somehow doesn't report them. It has helped explain mysterious system behavior that I originally thought was spyware, but was in fact partially unusable sectors corrupting operating system code. By the way the reviewer who states that it "does not fix bad sectors" is correct. But, since bad sectors are hardware errors, no program can fix them. When found, one should do a full backup and replace the bad (failing) drive. See the author's website for more info, including a table of drive access speeds for many drives (1000+). Get this. It is simple and does its job well. Great value! show Review details
Excellent 4 stars by cxman44 Dec 31, 2005
Not completly works with some RAID arrays (like nVidia nForce4) but nobody is perfect.... works fine with almost of ATA disks. Very good not excellent because above and don't fix damaged sectors. perhaps future version ? follow this way ... thanks a lot show Review details
