How do I know whether my version of Windows is 32-bit or 64-bit?

If your computer has more than 3GB of RAM, you are almost certainly running a 64-bit version of Windows. A 32-bit system can only use up to 3GB of RAM.

If you purchased a new computer within the last couple of years, it is probably running 64-bit.

You don't need to use a 64-bit software. A 32-bit version usually works perfectly fine on a 64-bit system. Not all programs offers 64-bit versions because there is not always an advantage to it.

However - you will not be able to run a 64-bit version on a 32-bit system! So if you can't figure it out, simply download the 32-bit version...
