create 3D models of houses and interiors Sketchup (formerly Google Sketchup) is an easy-to-use 3D modeling software that enables you to create 3D models of houses, buildings and many other objects, using an array of drag and drop tools and materials in a WYSIWYG editing environment. You can design your objects with rectangles, circles, ovals, arcs, lines and freehand drawings, and use a unique push/pull tool to add dimension to 2D objects. The program offers a library of building material patterns (brick, concrete, wood, glass, carpet etc.) and colors that you can use to add a realistic look to your creation. The finished design can be exported to popular image formats, including JPG, TIF, PNG and BMP, or shared via the Google 3D warehouse. Sketchup does not require any 3D experience, but you should read the supplied documentation and tutorials to make full use of the software - an interactive tutorial will explain the basic functionality for each selected tool. Includes a 30-day trial of Sketchup Pro, reverts to the free version thereafter. Copyright

A very good program marred by one flaw. 3 stars by BrianAdams Jul 15, 2014 (Read all my 7 reviews)
I have always liked this program but could never figure out why you cannot save your work to your own computer as a 3d file like a .OBJ or something. I don't mind that all you're work is saved to their 3d warehouse but why not a local copy? I never thought that was asking to much.Other than all of that it is a great first time 3d program. show Review details
Fantastic 3d art and design program 5 stars by CarbonDudeoxide Jan 23, 2009 (Read all my 26 reviews)
This is a very simple, yet powerful 3D modeling program. I've used this program for years and in fact my school has implemented Google Sketchup into the Lower School learning curriculum for Design and Technology. You can create anything from pens and pencils to skyscrapers and the USS Enterprise; all downloadable through Google's 3D Warehouse. show Review details
Excellent free program! 5 stars by minato_n Mar 24, 2008 (Read all my 6 reviews)
I love this program! I used it a lot as an Interior Designer with its just above moderate 3D features. I'm fed up with few others paid design software that have expired license and keep nagging to upgrade to latest version only after paid certain amount. This one from Google keep updated regularly and its totally free! Hope more a fantastic free 3D software like this in future. show Review details
