An comprehensive excellent photo editor 5 stars by etiebax237 May 07, 2021
Quite a lot of editing options. Extensive amount of tools. No installation required. Very clear interface, so easy to work with and very fast. Freeware, no ads. I have tried many programs but PhotoDemon is really great. I am quite impressed with this fantastic program show Review details
Photodemon is improving 4 stars by LowStrung Apr 28, 2018 (Read all my 16 reviews)
Regarding the previous two reviews, PhotoDemon has acquired some brushes since 2015. I'm hoping to eventually see cloning and healing brushes, too; the author has told me that he intends to add them, but that his time is limited. I'm sure a lot of other features have already been added since 2015, but I can't make a comparison, because I just started using PhotoDemon this year. At any rate, it is packed with editing features, some of them quite advanced. I particularly like the recent files list, which shows thumbnails of each recently loaded file, and includes the ability to clear the list. The image adjustment dialogs are superb, and so is the metadata editor. To rate this program against PhotoShop wouldn't be a fair comparison, but since PhotoDemon is free, I like to think of it as a poor man's PhotoShop. As for the lack of documentation, yes, trial and error is still necessary, but hovering over a button brings up a clearly-written infotip explaining its usage, so that should help a bit. At any rate, I'm gradually learning how to use PhotoDemon, and find that it's well worth the effort. show Review details
A couple of problems 4 stars by morganfj978 Jan 17, 2015 (Read all my 2 reviews)
Update to my previous post... -- 1st Still no help files, Developer has stated he has not developed them at this time since program is being updated almost daily... This is a problem.. but most items are self explanatory. Developer will answer questions via link in Help. -- 2nd The Photo presented in Snapfiles is not the current version but actually the Nightly release (kinda like a Beta) which has a few extra features... Snapfile DOES has the current Stable version but photo is a bit different. Nightly version is available from developer's website. After using the program for a bit I found it fairly easy to use. It works as well if not better than most other Photo editors.. However the Nightly Version has a couple of items only available on programs like Adobe Lightroom... Big update. Missing so far are the paint brushes and drawing tools available on other programs.. Also the Masking is somewhat slack.. However this is a work in progress... Nice simple program for Photo Enhancement! 3+ to 4 stars show Review details
