application firewall pcInternet Patrol is an application firewall, that is designed to detect malware like trojans, spyware, adware, virus, injected code and other hacker tools. It works based on security signatures, assigned to applications. Whenever it encounters a software that it considers to be potentially dangerous, it will prompt you with an alert and suggest to submit the software for inspection. Unfortunately this cannot be done during the trial, so the warning dialogs that will appear for most software you launch are useless during the trial, as they simply suspect most software to be potentially dangerous unless it is included in its database of safe programs. To find out if these suspicions were true, you will have to pay - in our case, more than a dozen program were falsely accused under the pcInternet Patrol concept `Better safe than sorry`.
