download websites for offline browsing HTTrack is an easy-to-use offline browser utility. It allows you to download an entire website (or part of it) and save it to a local directory for offline browsing. The site links are automatically rebuilt relatively so that you can browse the local site without having to be online. You can choose to download the entire site, a portion of it or just individual files. HTTrack supports custom rules that allow you to include or exclude files based on their type, size and other criteria. Once you have downloaded a site, it is saved as a project and you can keep it updated by only downloading new or changed files in subsequent runs. This program may be for a medium to advanced users but the documentation can bring anyone up to speed to use this utility. It works amazingly and consistently. You can view documents, images, etc. without needing to be online. Some say why would you need this? Just get online! But what if that site goes down or is purchased by another company, then that data could be deleted or site may be taken down. With the amount of hard drive space today storing a website is no big deal. HTTrack puts then in a place where they can be access easily. It is great for researches to do long term storage of information as it would exist on the net. Kudos to the HTTrack Team! show Review details
