Great software 4 stars by gimpguy Jul 24, 2012 (Read all my 1159 reviews)
I was lucky enough to get a free license for this and yes, it's everything you want in a screen recorder. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to capture some games when playing, well, many but it's still great for all other recording needs. There are free alternatives but for functionality and flexibility,I would suggest using Camtasia. I found the recording level clarity is great compared to most. It's very easy to create a tutorial with, as I've done with Gimp so many times. Some freebies I've used tend to crash after X-amount of time, ruining a tutorial completely and causing me to start over. Camtasia has never, ever crashed during a recording, that said, it's well worth a try. The downside is that it's very pricey, in my opinion, too pricey. Again, it's likely the best of it's kind but hey, I can figure out free options to get along if need be so I think they should cut the price down considerably. On the flip side, if you don't mind paying it or simply can afford it without worry, are serious about recordings for professional or other purposes, you won't go wrong, but I still feel it's far too high priced even with it's options and stability. show Review details
