analyze system crashes BlueScreenView enables you to investigate the cause of a system crash (blue screen of death) by analyzing the content of the Minidump files that are created during each crash. The program scans the content of the Minidump folder and provides a detailed report with the basic crash details as well as all the drivers and modules involved. BlueScreenView can highlight the drivers that were found in the error stack, allowing you to narrow down the possible cause for the crash. In addition to the technical details, the program can also show you a simulation of the original blue screen error. Note: In order to use BlueScreenView to analyze crash data, your system should be configure to save a `Small memory dump` file in the default folder - this setting can be found in the `Advance System Properties` dialog under `Startup and Recovery`. A must have 5 stars by gimpguy Sep 25, 2011 (Read all my 1159 reviews)
If you have ever encountered a BSOD, finding out what caused it can be a real pain. There are ways to track down what happened but none easier than using this. Definitely a must have and valuable in it's own right. show Review details
Very nice and simple tool 5 stars by Henry8 Jul 11, 2010 (Read all my 37 reviews)
One of those incredibly small programs, 51kb, that provide essential information and help. It couldn't be easier: just start it, and look what the problem was. It doesn't give an exhaustive diagnosis, though, so there's some work remaining to be done. And, like I've noticed after installing a new game mod that causes blue screens: it's not necessarily your Windows system that causes things to happen? Altogether, everyone should have this, or something like it. show Review details
Without this blue screens are pointless 4 stars by wildgoosespeeder Dec 29, 2009 (Read all my 52 reviews)
Over the years I have gotten several blue screens. Once you reboot the computer, you cannot fix the problem yourself because you cannot remember the blue screen details and cannot see the blue screen snapshot but rather rely on Microsoft's crash reporting tool which really cannot help you. It gave you suggestions on what to do but nothing specific to the blue screen. BlueScreenView allows you to look at the blue screen details of what caused the blue screen and can even replicate the blue screen you just saw making it better than Microsoft's crash reporting tool. You do not have to remember a thing. Just select the blue screen from the list and you can know the details of the blue screen. Knowing exactly what caused the blue screen, you can search for fixes online. show Review details
