file cataloging utility Advanced CATaloguer Pro is a file cataloging utility that allows you to create searchable indexes from removable media (CDs, DVDs etc.) as well as local folders, drives and other types of storage media. These indexes can be searched, even if the media is not connected or the CD/DVD not inserted in the drive. The program catalogs images and data from the media, and allows you to perform searches using Boolean expressions, file names, descriptions, notes, words, phrases, text segments, MS Office document summaries, file size and date of creation parameters. It supports IDE3 tag parameters (like album or author names, song titles, etc), and can also find duplicated files by name or CRC32 code. Additional features include file synchronization, support for compressed archives, XML export, custom file categories and more. Copyright

Great software 5 stars by Zorawar Nov 01, 2005
This is the best cataloger I have found. It has loads of features that others don't, such as the ability to perform just about any operation on the files listed in the catalog (as long as the media on which the files are stored is currently accessible). You can delete, rename, copy, and access the shell menu, all without leaving ACAT. There are also lots of options for finding and selecting duplicates. You can find duplicates by things such as file name, modified date, size, CRC32, as well as music tag info such as artist, title, album, etc. You can select duplicates from the duplicates list based on criteria such as inside/outside archive, newer/older modified date, etc. depending on the criteria used to generate the list. You can also categorize files/folders with as many custom categories as you want. About the only real downside to this software is the price. It is more expensive than most cataloging software, but for what you get, I think it is more than worth the cost show Review details
