portable Portable

taskbar replacement RK Launcher is a visually pleasing replacement for the Windows taskbar, that closely resembles the MacIntosh taskbar with full color icons and mouseover animation effects (zooming). The launcher automatically keeps track of minimized Windows and newly installed programs, and also functions as an application launcher that you can use to launch your favorite programs by simply dragging them onto the taskbar. Advanced users can fully customize the appearance via configuration files. There are various options available for editing in the RKlauncher.conf file. Copyright Snapfiles.com

It's ok 4 stars by gimpguy Sep 16, 2008 (Read all my 1159 reviews)
It's not the worst little addition but had issues getting things to start when clicked on, and a few other issues like freezing up sometimes, not a lot but enough to get under my skin. It's visually nice, but needs an adjustment. If some bugs are worked out it would be a keeper. I do like it but want more out of it performance wise, basically in hopes it works better in the future. I did get a couple of shut down errors with it, "crashed" but only twice. Once ironed out, will be a 5. show Review details
Ok for a flashy thingy 2 stars by pcs800 Jun 07, 2006 (Read all my 222 reviews)
This is almost exactly like the Jet Toolbar launcher. It's flashy, it looks cool, it is 3D, but it's next to useless. I use a launcher that hold about 200 app shortcuts for me. Obviously this launcher would never handle that without being a mile long. It is also covering up part of my desktop which I hate. If you want cute little flashy desktop things, then grab it. If you are a power user who wants alphabetized or categorized shortcuts to many apps, then forget it. show Review details
If u tried yzdock or mac u should try this! 5 stars by Ghost_grey Jan 06, 2006 (Read all my 56 reviews)
This is rather cool, it's just like yz dock but it is more complete, and being actively developed. Can someone clarify what happened to yz dock? anyways, this is better than many programs that do the same things I guess since it is freeware ;) and easily configurable, i like it. My only quiff (is that a word?) is that it needs configuration, because it doesn't detect default email, web browser, address book, audio player, etc (i use Firefox btw) and another thing is that it doesn't handle dragging items from the start menu like "run", or whatever.. i would like a menu bar anyways show Review details
