Several months ago I wrote a negative LibreOffice review in this space pointing out it is a surprisingly buggy application. I had used OpenOffice for years with good success, switching to LibO only because it appeared OOo would not be developed further. I was looking at going back to OOo but decided to wait through a couple more LibO updates to see if the problems were addressed. The latest update, LibO v. 3.5.0, is the buggiest yet. One cannot even access the templates. I uninstalled LibO and reinstalled OOo.

My computer was bogging down during start-up, too many applications loading simultaneously. Sometimes it stalled out and had to be rebooted. Startup Delayer corrected the problem by spacing individual application loading out a few milliseconds. Highly recommended.

Pop Peeper is clearly the best of the email notifiers I have tried over the years. It could be a little easier to set up. Not sure why the author makes it necessary to download and install the webmail and tweaker plugins separately, however they all perform very well together.

Look no further. 7-Zip is a small, clean, neat, effective, fast, zip program. Doesn't load your computer up with crapware, like Facebook links and donation nag screens. Just does it's job - fast! Bonus: it's also a basic file manager.
