PicPick PicPick

Use to be excellent. latest version is bad. 2 stars
This app has been excellent for the longest time. However, each new version of PicPick seems to add new whiz-bang eye candy without adding any useful functionality. The latest version shows that the developers have drank the Microsoft koolaid, adding a shiny but confusing ribbon bar. Once started, PicPick no longer resides in the system tray, so you have to launch it again each time you want to use it. Price: Free

FastStone Capture FastStone Capture

Outstanding 5 stars
I've been using MWSnap for quite a while, but when I came across Faststone Capture, I was really wowed. It's small, has a sleek, simple interface, and is a breeze to use. Unlike most other capture programs, it even will perform a capture of the entire scrolling region of a window. This means you can make a snapshot of an entire web page. Highly recommended!
