Only good for one year

Contacted the author-you can use the free version for one year then you either need to pay money or uninstall it and reinstall a new version. Seems odd but that is straight from the horses mouth.

Firefox Extension Backup (FEBE)

Kind of useless

The problem is that when Firefox updates most extensions dont so you would be left with a new version of firefox with some non working extensions-so good for bookmarks and passwords but bad for extensions.

Some features exellent but....

The healing tool is awesome but I cannot see all the buttons on 800x600 and there is no option to remove the right click context menu on images-I wish they would add that option,otherwise works great.

Xvid Media Codec

Xvid the best

I use it only-less intrusive than Divx and will decode Divx 5 so you dont need to install that to play the videos-only thing is that it is open source so be careful where you download -I have never heard of this site so make a restore point first...but should be fine.Only reason I say this is as it was not tested by Snapfiles. What,do you need like a super large screen resolution to see this? 800x600 dont cut it plus weather would not do anything,needs no installation so worth a try but who would want this-just use a tabbed browser and have youtube on a tab??

Easy to build but hard to use

Seems easy to build the boot CD - if you have a dell computer you need a plugin called fixdellxp which you can get on the faq page-you have to add this to the cd before you burn it. My only complaint is that there is no documentation on how to use the CD-it includes A43 file manager which can browse files but can you run exe's? Can you run the system restore exe?

Finally a tray clock I can read! I like it-it really could use a skin browser window but I only liked 10 or so skins so just go into the skin folder and delete what you dont want-will shorten the menu.

I dont like to use this term but I am being honest-installs fine and works but XP ran really slow after install and when I went to uninstall it took 50 seconds for windows to find my control panel?? Try it if you want but make a restore point first....

Agree with Snapfiles Review plus it tried to run Installshield Update Service after intallation -also installs a Roxio Update Manager........ The main pics cannot be resized and if you click on the edit picture button it takes you to roxios site-I dont like this program,neat idea but a pain.....

Bitmap to Icon Wizard

Takes too long and besides most graphics progams will export an image to an icon-before using this application you have to resize your pic to 256x256 anyway.......too many steps

Works well

Quick Zip

Ugly and irritating

The Gui is butt ugly plus you can right click on a zip file and choose to have Quickzip unzip it but it opens the programs Gui then closes it-bugs me!

Very nice

Makes nice looking albums very quickly the only downside is to view the original image it pops up a javascript window-cannot figure out how to disable that but still nice and uninstalls very cleanly.

Excellent but be cautious

Love the program but the version here is bundled with the yahoo toolbar-not spy or adware but people should at least know this-yes you can choose not to install the toolbar but there are other versions on the site you can download that are free of this plus the size is only 500kb or so on that version-should make note of this. [Editor: You will be downloading the no-toolbar version from us]

I like it -not having acrobat installed it converts nice,there is a GUI for it available as well (pdf2htmlgui) which you can search for!I hate acrobat but sometimes need to view one plus this will extract all images from a Pdf file.

Is this some kind of alien software? After 5 minutes and a large headache I uninstalled it-at least I did not have it scan my whole PC for images , would have left an ini file in each folder (hidden) that it does not remove upon uninstall- does one need to go to school to figure out this program??

What?

Ok-works fine I guess but after waiting 30 minutes for it to scan my drive for media it presents me with a worthless list of junk? My files are in folders and sub-directories so I already know where they are-now I cannot even figure out where they are in this program , am I missing something? Just make folders for your various media (EG. video-mp3s etc) then you are good to go-Geez!!

Fast? irritating yes!

Like I want to learn another browser configuration.. it is free and does work but it is not fast (compared with avant or greenbrowser) but the thing I dislike the most is that when a page is loading the hourglass on the mouse pointer is moving - I do not see this on an IE based browser , firefox does it sometimes but not nearly as much. This is a good browser but makes me want to hit my monitor with a baseball bat (that is not a good feeling)

How cool

Aside from the panoramic images this can open a folder of HQ Jpegs and scroll them as a screensaver(or an image viewer if you click Preview Screensaver). I love the way you can set the images to change so many seconds or minutes-I have never seen a program that does this yet..

Works well,installs fine but if you misspell a word on purpose it wont find anything-afterall is that not the purpose of trying to spell a word? Should have some kind of feature like this-also should be able to browse pages like a real dictionary book.When I look up a word in google it will at least tell me if it is spelled right.

IE Privacy Keeper

Works but....

Works well but messes up a lot of internet related things-cache does not work well after installing , high speed users may not see this but it shows up on a dialup connection - the internet just "Feels" slower after installing this program.....Pages you have been to dont cache for some reason and I have had this issue on 2 different operating systems (XP and ME)

Easy Text To HTML Converter

Woks very well

Works well and has some nice templates including scrollbar skinning - only complaint is that if the text Doc is centered this program will not keep that(it winds up aligned left) but aside from that it is neat.

Acoo Browser

A real turkey

Sluggish-No skins-acts really funky plus add a registry entry for InstantGet(a shareware download manager) and if you remove that then uninstall acoo it puts it back in-Hkey current user/software/InstantGet... why I do not know -just say no to Achoo I mean Acoo Browser. Makes me wheeze!!

Nice but....

Really fast and not bloated but beware of the flashbloc plugins-will lock up your system-just delete them.Also no forum to talk to others about these issues but the browser works very well.NOTE really puts too much stuff in your registry-they should use an Ini file like the others.......
