Not sure what actually it is 1 stars by just.little.dust518 Nov 04, 2018 (Read all my 2 reviews)
Is it a Firewall to control internet access? Then there should have a way to set a password to lock GlassWire settings. If there is any I couldn't find it. There is one it says "Enable administrator's password request." Also there is a lock button next to it with which I (and anybody on my PC) can lock and unlock that setting, and by unlocking I can put a check mark or uncheck it, I am not sure if I can do anything else with that. The App is very easy to use anyway, because you can't do a lot with it. There are a lot of lock and unlock button in the app, but anybody sitting on my PC can click those to lock and unlock whatever they want. I can block all internet connection for the time that I will be away, but in that case GlassWire will keep a big window open, telling everybody that internet connection is blocked and giving them an option to click on a Combo Box to select to get connection back. I felt this like a joke. And then the interface. You go to settings, try to scroll down to see whats at the bottom, there is very good chance that you wouldn't be able to do that. They have excellent color theme, you most probably wouldn't be able to see where to click to scroll. And it costs 39 a Year?!! There is another secret, I purchased it after reading description of the App and since it got a 5 in Webattack, without trying the App first. Stupid Me! show Review details
Removed functionality from the free version. 2 stars by tdebruin73 Jul 07, 2018 (Read all my 3 reviews)
I don't know what happened, but what was once part of the free version (firewall functionality) now no longer seems to be, and I'd have to upgrade to get it again. To hell with that. show Review details
A flashy network monitoring tool 2 stars by OnePiece Jan 24, 2018 (Read all my 11 reviews)
This is a revision of my previous favorable review, after the changes that version 2 brought. GlassWire is essentially a network activity monitoring tool that will inform you when your applications first access the net (in- and outbound connections are both detected), or they change (e.g. are updated or perhaps modified by malware). You are informed about these events in small popup windows. In addition, you can see the active applications and their connections, the destination of these connections, etc. The usual stuff. If one noticed anything suspicious, they could block the corresponding program from accessing the net -- in the previous version. Thus it had some simplified "firewall-like" functionality. This was removed from the free edition starting with version 2, leaving you with a fancy network monitoring tool that consumes a bit more resources than its alternatives, and displays an annoying popup urging you to upgrade. Not recommended anymore. show Review details
Lousy interface 1 stars by objective Aug 27, 2016 (Read all my 10 reviews)
I know I will be assailed for dissenting, as always, but I don't care. I like the feature set, but I hate the interface. I hate the style over substance. The grey-on-lighter-grey text which is hard to read; the tiny fonts; the non-sizable columns; the scattered design of the overall interface; the constant needless disk writing. show Review details
