Pdf shrunk! 5 stars by busybusy Jan 18, 2018 (Read all my 193 reviews)
This program is nice! Good interface, plenty of options to control how it compresses the PDF, and relatively small. The nag pop-ups are annoying but after playing with the program and performing some tests it does quite well in reducing PDF files some over 50. I looks at different elements in the PDF and reduces each differently verses some programs that just process the PDF as a whole. Overall great program. If you want command line support to process a lot of PDFs the Pro version is 199.00. If this is part of business to produce and reduce then CLI seems to help automate that function. The free version and an home entry point is reasonable with the nag screens. It is pretty cutting edge in the way they manipulate objects, very cool. Two-Thumbs Up! show Review details
Astonishingly effective 5 stars by Harlan Jun 27, 2014 (Read all my 59 reviews)
I tested it on a few documents with embedded images and tables, and the compression was 75-90. For comparison, using "7z" compression on the original files yielded about 10 compression. Excellent performance and a clean interface. The nag screens are a negligible annoyance in return for something that is so useful. show Review details
If it's something you need - get it 4 stars by EmpressTrudy Apr 18, 2013 (Read all my 16 reviews)
PDF files are generally pretty efficient sizewise. But if you really need to shrink them and it's a large file and you avoid zipping them then by all means do this. The amount of compaction isn't consistent but it clearly works for very large files better than small ones. show Review details
