Paranoid registration requirements 1 stars by mathom Jul 18, 2011 (Read all my 3 reviews)
This is a great program... until you buy it. We liked it enough to buy a 20-user license, and THEN found out that we had to go through a very involved procedure to generate custom registration keys for each machine we intended to install it on. The process was so painful and confusing that we decided to just walk away from the investment. We now use a freeware viewer for most purposes, and love it (go to the Freeware PDF Tools section of SnapFiles and sort by ratings -- it's as good as everyone says). Unfortunately, there are no good alternatives if you actually need to open a PDF and edit the text in place. Nitro has one reasonably priced competitor, but their registration requirements are only slightly less tedious (although the competition does finally give you a registration key that you can use offline, unlike Nitro). showShow review details
Great PDF filler 4 stars by Jageok Apr 25, 2011
Good form filler but if have to go back to a previous cell you filled in you have to change the tabs or the mode and delete the text box and then start again. Saving is a breeze. All the form frames stay the same -- you cannot change the original form only fill in new. showShow review details
Beautiful and disappointing 2 stars by Irritated Apr 08, 2011 (Read all my 12 reviews)
Nitro PDF Reader has a beautiful interface - the second-best amongst PDF software I've tried, second only to the cleaner but more bloated Adobe X. Psyched with my new PDF toy I quickly found that it doesn't work that well. A number of functions don't work consistently or correctly, including copy-and-paste and find. To my shock I found that it doesn't support transparency! A basic function of the PDF format and it is not supported, which means that many PDFs do not render correctly when opened, including those with transparent graphics or any transparency layers such as handwriting overlays. The commercial version, Nitro Pro also has this defect. It is mentioned in their customer help forum numerous times. Dealbreaker! showShow review details
Still looking for a better PDF reader... 3 stars by 123546 Feb 20, 2011 (Read all my 2 reviews)
Looking for a lighter PDF reader, other than Adobe tried different ones and decided to try Nitro's based on the review that gave it 5 stars. It's very easy to create a PDF file which I use a lot. Still looking for a better PDF reader though. The find function doesn't work: it can't find a word that's obviously there... The copy functions won't work: control+c or copy will result on gibberish (it pastes something totally different). That sucks. Hope they improve those functions. Until then, i will be getting a different one. showShow review details
Very neat PDF reader 5 stars by Nicholas Oct 19, 2010 (Read all my 47 reviews)
Highly recommended. There are more PDF readers around than Acroread. Nitro PDF Reader seems to be a newcomer and it makes a very good impression: fast, good looking, functional and reliable. It even lets you extract texts and images from PDF files. I did not hesitate long to make Nitro my favorite. showShow review details
