This is hands down the best PDF Reader. No other works this well.
I've used Nitro Reader for Years and was always the best one to me compared to others. It's strong point is that it has a great PDF creator in which you can customize the PDF the way you want to. It also can extract content, snapshot, notes & commenting, form filler, Quicksign, web restriction and java script disablement. But, recently I work with PDFs with large images and Nitro seems rather slow when opening them and turning to each page. I really like Nitro, but the sluggish behavior has made me change to a new PDF viewer. Other PDF viewers have improved and there are PDF tools available to edit PDFs, so Nitro hasn't become a real necessity.
Nitro 3 was a great improvement in the past, but it hasn't had any upgrades while the pro version is at version 9. If they improve the speed I'll definitely use it again. If you don't mind how slow it is when viewing large images then you should try it. Its PDF creator would be the main reason to use it.
Good form filler but if have to go back to a previous cell you filled in you have to change the tabs or the mode and delete the text box and then start again. Saving is a breeze. All the form frames stay the same -- you cannot change the original form only fill in new.
Nitro PDF Reader has a beautiful interface - the second-best amongst PDF software I've tried, second only to the cleaner but more bloated Adobe X. Psyched with my new PDF toy I quickly found that it doesn't work that well. A number of functions don't work consistently or correctly, including copy-and-paste and find. To my shock I found that it doesn't support transparency! A basic function of the PDF format and it is not supported, which means that many PDFs do not render correctly when opened, including those with transparent graphics or any transparency layers such as handwriting overlays. The commercial version, Nitro Pro also has this defect. It is mentioned in their customer help forum numerous times.
Looking for a lighter PDF reader, other than Adobe tried different ones and decided to try Nitro's based on the review that gave it 5 stars.
It's very easy to create a PDF file which I use a lot.
Still looking for a better PDF reader though.
The find function doesn't work: it can't find a word that's obviously there...
The copy functions won't work: control+c or copy will result on gibberish (it pastes something totally different).
Hope they improve those functions.
Until then, i will be getting a different one.
There are more PDF readers around than Acroread. Nitro PDF Reader seems to be a newcomer and it makes a very good impression: fast, good looking, functional and reliable. It even lets you extract texts and images from PDF files. I did not hesitate long to make Nitro my favorite.
