Been looking for something like this for a while. Cool feature - double-click on your desktop and all the fenced in groups hide. Double-click again and the re-appear. showShow review details

My first thought about this program was, ok, why would I need something like this? My last thought was, why would I need something like this? For one, it fences your icons on your desktop into boxes, groups, etc... however, I don't see the purpose. You can align icons to grid and move them into groups yourself. The auto group really didn't know where to put the icons and I found myself moving them anyway, which once again, you can do without this. Aside from the above, it adds a transparent configurable box, er.. fence around groups of icons and labels them. I'm not sure yet again, why anyone would need to label a group of icons as icons typically reflect the what program it is so if you aligned IE, Firefox, Opera, etc... you know they are browser icons. With all that, some may find this handy, I can't say they won't and it does run rather well, it's different, customizable and hey, it's free. If some people, like my son, have no wallpaper due to desktop icons covering up the screen, this may be for you. For people who don't have so many, I can't see a reason to use it unless for fun and looks. Still a decent free app. showShow review details

This little program (free) is a fantastic desktop organizer. It allows me to FINALLY put an end to chasing revolving icons on the desktop. I know where each one is now. Not only does it corral them and keep them in one spot, it keeps them on one display, so this is also great for multiple display users too! Fences is easy to set up, and if you need help, there isn't anything that Stardock hasn't covered in the instructions. Highly recommended! showShow review details

I ended up having to uninstall it from Windows XP 32-bit because it kept crashing windows explorer(.exe) when the control panel was launched. Very unfortunate. Try it. It works fine on my Windows7 unit at work. showShow review details

Great little program. Helps to keep my desktop clean and makes it easy to find what I'm looking for. I've used many other types of tools to keep things organized and this seems to work best for me. Others hide your icons/files (which works great if that's what you're looking for)...this one allows me to keep all of these icons/files on my desktop and lets me sort them into different categories. A nice feature is that if I want to hide these desktop icons/files, all I have to do is double-click on an empty space on the desktop. Would definitely recommend this to people who like some clutter on their workspace (but, allows them to hide clutter when they need to). showShow review details
