Updated: Compared to most backups this one is my favorite. Mostly backups you have to wait for a specific time to backup your different files. Yardis, just backs up your files on a continuous basis. It has error checking for file issues to network drive connectivity problem. The icon changes in the task bar to show when there are issues. The files that are currently locked are backlogged to be processed when their are freed.
Some draw backs it that it does not use Volume Shadow Copy or have additional features like before/after process actions. These would allow more control over locked files or the ability to shutdown/restart them so you can back them up.
I still give it high marks for it active backup process. It gives you piece of mind to know that it is being done now instead of waiting for some timed function.
This is a Great Backup Utility! Two-Thumbs Up!!
It appears to use a lot of resources and causes excess heat buildup. I cannot get a reply from the developer, certainly no answers. I am trying XRBackup which seems quicker and it compresses thar archive.
Super easy to use and runs flawlessly in background backing up as soon as changes occur.
I have been using this for a while and whilst it could perhaps be a little more intuitive and initially does slow things down a tad whilst the "backlog" is in operation, it's essentially a "fit-and-forget" item, backing up files and alterations in real time to a location of your choice. Can't argue with the price!
