An ok program 4 stars by desertjon May 07, 2012 (Read all my 15 reviews)
Tried Rising today on my older PC and it was surprisingly easy on resources, fast downloads and scans. Pleasant interface and didn't slow my PC down like many others but I don't like a couple of things about it: It does two installs amounting to 314MB, Rising Antivirus and the Deployment System..., and the fact it's made in China. All around it is a good program and does what it says. Try it showShow review details
What it should be.. 5 stars by Darrell Mar 14, 2010 (Read all my 4 reviews)
Clean interface, very stingy on resources. I've had the most popular ones, but got tired of the resource hoggers slowing things down. This is a keeper. I tried it a couple of years ago but the interface was glitchy. I'm glad to see it has improved dramatically. I now use this as my main AV, along with another stand-alone malware scanner. showShow review details
Does not seem to slow down the PC... 5 stars by Downton Mar 06, 2010
After using one of the better known anti-virus programs for some years the latest version of that program caused my PC to freeze constantly..The other well known one would not update! Found this here and gave it a try. No problems installing it and everything has run smooth for just over two weeks now. Does not seem to slow down the PC as much as the competitors and has all the same functions. Easy to use and understand interface also ...needless to say that I will stick with this now and will not be going back to previous anti-virus software. showShow review details
Looks nice, works well 5 stars by SilverFox Dec 21, 2009 (Read all my 6 reviews)
I like this anti-virus. Beautiful interface, program seems to work well as system protection. Updates definitions daily, quickly. Easy enough to use, and is packed with security features. When changing some settings within Rising, user is asked to enter an alphanumeric code displayed on the screen. This verification process prevents malicious software changing Rising's settings. A+ for that! It monitors the system constantly for possible security breaches, though if the security levels are set to "high" there are many false alarms. Best to maybe lower the settings a little if you don't want to have to interact with Rising every few minutes. Thanks to the developers for a very nice product. showShow review details
I am amazed! 4 stars by nobull2 Dec 19, 2009 (Read all my 20 reviews)
This has found two hidden viruses already that nothing else was able to find.... doing a full SCAN. I was having numerous problems of late and went to Rising and have not regretted it at all. I may have more thoughts later but for now I am quite happy with it. showShow review details
Pretty good antivirus 4 stars by Turmoil Feb 20, 2009
Rising Antivirus is a good overall, it does have an easy interface, but is a little on the time consuming side when performing a full scan, it does not appear to use a whole lot resources when running in the background I give it 4 out of 5 stars showShow review details
Full featured and free! 5 stars by moparmac Feb 04, 2009 (Read all my 11 reviews)
The free edition of Rising antivirus is almost a suite.Rising is loaded! It lacks a firewall but has the monitor, scanner, auto updates. It's configurable, updates at least daily, and it's stable. The developer provides prompt support also. Some of the features are Email and File Protection,Embedded Scans, Self Protection. This program is worthy of a look for those looking for a complete antivirus solution in the freeware category. showShow review details
So far so good 4 stars by Davoid Dec 21, 2008 (Read all my 7 reviews)
I am a Fan of AVG from Grisoft and use AVG on my Linux desktop as well as my Windows laptop. But I have Windows 2000 Server at home that I use as a file and print server which AVG will NOT run on any server without costly license. Rising seemed to be the closest thing to AVG. Only time will tell if it is as good or better, but so far so good! showShow review details
Outstanding 5 stars by UpStreme1 Oct 21, 2008
I've been using paid AV/security programs for the last couple of years, and when my licenses expired I went on the hunt for suitable and cost-effective alternatives. I must admit that the screenshots swayed me: the Rising interface is a work of art. After a few weeks of use I'm pleased to report that it functions equally well. It's thorough, highly configurable, easy to use, downright stingy on the system resources, and easy on the eyes. OK, the scan times are a little slow - but no worse than many other similar applications that I've tried. That's a small (and the only) price to pay for this first-rate antivirus/antimalware program. Kudos to the good folks at Rising, they have built one of the best tools of its kind available anywhere, free or otherwise. showShow review details
Updating problem and other things 2 stars by magnetic56 Oct 18, 2008 (Read all my 7 reviews)
There is a problem when updating Rising AV. When doing an update, it disables itself for the duration of the update, setting off the warning Shield from Windows Security Center... Also, once installed it takes up over 173MBs of disk space; very bloated software. showShow review details
It's ok but doesn't like to share 3 stars by gimpguy Oct 01, 2008 (Read all my 654 reviews)
I downloaded this and tried it....however, it states that it conflicts with Comodo and to uninstall Comodo firewall, hmmmmm. This version has no firewall so why? Didn't seem to play nice with SpywareTerminator either, yikes. Perhaps some work is needed here. Rising yes, but until then, I stay with Avira. showShow review details
So far I'm loving it! 5 stars by Charlee Sep 12, 2008 (Read all my 3 reviews)
This has just blown AVG and Avira out of the water, well at least for me. Sorry, that I had to make the switch from AVG and even though it was my preferred antivirus kit I got fed up with the annoying schedule scan, that YOU CAN NOT!! modify to your liking. Now, as for RISING Antivirus, this one protects me even way before I even log on to windows! scan is about the same as AVG but you need to consider the size of your HD to draw your own conclusion on that one. The nice little "shred" tool in the context is a nice little addition tool, already had a free one on my computer but that's a nice touch as well for those who don't. So far I'm loving it and I recommend you give this one a try! you should not be disappointed and if you still prefer the others, then good luck to you kid! showShow review details
Nice antivirus program 5 stars by sweden Aug 24, 2008 (Read all my 7 reviews)
I have used many antivirus programs, but I tell u that at this program is one of the best! It does not use much memory of your computer, and it updating in the background, and scans the computer in the time you set the settings to do. showShow review details
So far so good!!! 5 stars by spook1 Aug 22, 2008
It was recommended to me. I have been using it for about a day and a half so far my system has been running more smoothly than it did when i was using avast as to protection wise I wouldn't be able to tell you right now but from what I hear it's better than Avast d Avira. showShow review details
