Some lament, some torment, some really have nothing to say that is of use to anyone. It must be the Freeware Syndrome! I personally adore the freewares that I use, however when I like a program : I BUY IT. Some reviewers don't even seem to be able to configure, much less use the programs they are lamenting on.... I guess they simply don't deserve the best Internet Security Suite at the best possible cost. No sir some people think the whole world owes them their work, labor and initiatives : free of charge always! So here it is : VIPRE does the work for me!!! And very well, since I registered : my machine has never been so clean or hassle free. No more blue screens, no more full OS reinstalls, no more rootkits. ALL the protection that I want or ever wanted. Above all it is North American based and offers excellent consumer service : I can and will testify to this ! showShow review details

Has problems: it does updating of definitions all the time, and no matter how much I try to set a time for it, it still does it whenever. And if it does have a problem with the updating of definitions it will tell you that you are unprotected, which is worrisome. If you are looking for support, forget it. Wrong company for that. They were rude. It quit doing deep scans, and was instead doing quick scans twice sometimes three times a day, tried to get help on that, nothing; then it froze my PC on its interface and was scanning for five hours, I tried everything, finally had to manually unplug the PC, scary stuff. Again, no support, they tried to blame my PC, and other software on my PC, even suggested that I get rid of the other software which I had for years with no problems. First one then another, but after six months of it working with those software it didnt make sense it suddenly had problems. They were no help and were very rude. showShow review details

Excellent anti virus/spyware program, very unobtrusive and updates about three or four times a day. Have set mine to do a full scan twice a week which takes about 50 minutes on my machine. By the the way the last review is incorrect, you can totally refresh update definitions each time but if you don't want this just make sure that 'Completely refresh my definitions' is unchecked in update settings. showShow review details

I really wanted to recommend this product, I did. I like it very much except for the way it updates. It has no incremental updates, you must download the entire definition file each time. 50mb to 60mb. On top of that if you ask it to scan it checks for updates before it will do the scan. Should be a way to turn that action off. Bottom line here is this. Great Program Horrible updates. If you are on the slow end of the ISP world such as Dial Up, Aircard or Satellite, or if you have bandwidth limits, I think this program should be avoided. I would have given this excellent all the way except for features due to the updates, but I had to lower everything to give it only 3 stars. showShow review details

This AV program is the bomb! They did it from scratch and they got it right. Norton? McAfee? No way. I haven't used them in years anyway. I was using NOD32, which is a great product. When I discovered this program, it sounded worth trying. I have absolutely nothing negative to say. It's quick, it's unobtrusive, it's accurate, and a cinch to use. If you want free, AVAST is the way to go, but if you want the BEST, this is it. showShow review details
