Did not deliver 1 stars by Mike_Troy Dec 04, 2015 (Read all my 7 reviews)
I wanted for the limited purpose of trimming MP3 files. It would only save my MP3 clips in WAV format. Further, only the first 5 seconds of a clip saved properly. The rest of the recording was blank. show Review details
On the heels of audacity 4 stars by realbull2009250 Dec 03, 2013 (Read all my 60 reviews)
I use this quite often for voice file editing and some music files. It is easy to use and understand for most computer users. It is portable and light. The developers are very actively working, so each update has a plethora of improvements, check out the update history. Recently a native 64-bit version has been released. It has a plugin system that is easy to use, but more plugins should be available. Files can only be saved as wav or mp3. The GUI is a bit retro looking and needs and upgrade. It is a great audio editor that will satisfy most, while not as great as Audacity, it is surely nipping at its heels and may be a head-to-head contender one day. show Review details
Only for smaller audio files. 3 stars by ruthless Feb 06, 2008 (Read all my 39 reviews)
On opening the program it looked great..nice.. well set out interface with plenty of options but that is as far as I got; as soon as I opened a file an error message appeared: memory allocation ...unable to load file ! There is no help withing the program but there is an online forum where I found out that large files can not be handled by the program, so sadly I can not recommend this unless you want to use it with smaller files. show Review details
Does everything i need very well 5 stars by joeysazo Oct 02, 2007
I only need basic editing of concert recordings to crop out gaps between songs. Wavosaur has a nice, straightforward UI so it's easy to get the job done. (I previously tried Audacity but didn't like the UI.) Plus it's nice to add fades, which the basic Windows recorder software doesn't have (and is not included with the new Vista computer I recently purchased.) show Review details
Great program, very easy to use, fast results 5 stars by Lephonque Sep 06, 2007
I checked out a couple of freeware audio editors and this I found by far the easiest to use. It has all the features that I need as I do mostly very basic editing (cut, paste, fades, normalize). There might be other, more powerful audio editors but this is the one that provides the quickest results and does its job really, really well! I like that the program requires no installation. Some good features, but more work needed. 2 stars by ianmacm Jan 30, 2007 (Read all my 174 reviews)
It would not be difficult to create a sound recorder more sophisticated than the one that ships with Windows computers, and Wavosaur has some useful features. However, it could use some additional features, otherwise it will lose out to a program like the freeware Audacity which is more powerful. show Review details
