Fast 5 stars by gimpguy Sep 08, 2012 (Read all my 1072 reviews)
Probably the fastest RSS reader I've used. Easy to get going, imported my opml files from others just fine, and boy does this update quickly. Easy to browse around, to read, plenty of options, I've got a new reader :-) showShow review details
The one reader that just plain works 5 stars by ex23807 Apr 14, 2012
I have 2,662 feeds and GreatNews zips through them all without a hitch. Most other readers I have tried choke when trying to import such a number or will not even start once this many feeds have been imported. GreatNews doesn't mind one bit what others reject completely. showShow review details
Very good rss feed reader. 5 stars by binaryweasel May 21, 2009 (Read all my 3 reviews)
It's got some bugs, it crashes sometimes, but I love this feed reader. I wish it didn't use the IE engine.......I've tried other readers but always come back to GreatNews.. showShow review details
A great piece of work 5 stars by TerryP Nov 30, 2008 (Read all my 80 reviews)
This RSS feed reader is a full-featured application in a surprisingly small package. It has a clean and usable interface, works quickly, and is a pleasure to use. A nice job by the developer. showShow review details
Easy to use and portable 5 stars by KEAndersson May 01, 2008 (Read all my 10 reviews)
I really don't know much about feed readers, so I like GreatNews: It automatically does whatever needs to be done, without demanding my interference. GreatNews is portable - no installation whatsoever - so I can carry the reader with me on an USB stick, plug it into any connected computer I happen to run across and read my newspapers. The fact that GreatNews is multi-language with support even for my little "mother tongue" Swedish adds to it's virtues. Nice! showShow review details
Great, just great.. 4 stars by eclectik Sep 27, 2007
Maybe not the prettiest interface but so intuitive and not a memory hog. Runs fast, experienced some crashes (hey with about 800 current feeds...). showShow review details
The best! 5 stars by yassertariq Sep 12, 2007 (Read all my 86 reviews)
It's the best feed-reader. No one comes close to it. Just download it without thinking for another moment. It doesn't even need that .NET !!! showShow review details

The best reader....period 5 stars by Bgfunk Jun 29, 2006
I've tried just about every feed reader that I could get my hands on. I used Snarfer for about 3 months and thought it was a very good program. Then I found Great News which puts Snarfer to shame. showShow review details
Best yet 5 stars by pcs800 May 17, 2006 (Read all my 223 reviews)
I have tried probably 10 to 12 RSS readers and this one has been more stable and friendly than the rest so far. I have been using it for about 2 months with all the default feeds (accept the chinese blog one, what's up with that?) and about 20 of my own added feeds. One particular feed liked to get screwed up with some other readers but looks fine with this one. I particularly like the different views you are able to select, newspaper is my favorite though. Definitely grab this one while it's still free. showShow review details
Used them all and this is the best 5 stars by justausr May 15, 2006
For the last 3 years, I've tried every stand alone RSS reader and think this is the best I've used so far. The watches are excellent and I like the ability to mark items as read. Channel newspaper has lots of options. Ability to tag items for later retrieval is also great. There are things that could be better. For example, while you can modify the stylesheets, no XML so you can't get *exactly* what you'd like, but what is there is pretty good. Developer responds to posts on his board. showShow review details
A remarkable news aggregator 5 stars by Leendert May 05, 2006 (Read all my 27 reviews)
GreatNews has everything one might expect from a feed reader, and so cleverly put together it's hardly believable the whole resumes to 1Mb as compared to 3 times more quite often elsewhere. When we discover a software we often wonder "OK, but... is this other feature implemented?" Well, it is! "I'm sure they haven't thought about that other point..." Well, they have! The authors have programmed this little beauty with the end user in mind: it is definitely smart, like you and me! showShow review details
The only feed reader you'll ever need 5 stars by CrimsonStrange May 01, 2006 (Read all my 4 reviews)
This one does it all, folks - for free! It doesn't hog your system resources and gives you all of the options and settings you could ever want. Even if you really don't understand all of the hoopla about RSS, this program will enable you to keep a check on your favorite sites simply by copying the feed URL and pasting it into the GreatNews program. And GreatNews will even FIND the feed for you, if you so choose. Do give this program a try! showShow review details
