First, it took 17 hours to clone my 120 gig C: drive.
When I booted up, Explorer couldn't find the clone which was working fine before I ran Clone Maxx. Device Manager found it as an unknown type. Clone Maxx said it was there. Changing the BIOS didn't work.
So, I ran the Western Digital utility that came with the drive. It said, Oh, you have a drive that is not recognized by your system. Would you like that fixed? Sure, I answered. It immediately re-partitioned the drive which destroyed all the data on it. So I'm back where I started after wasting a lot of time.
Clone Maxx is worth what it cost - nothing.
SATA drives are not supported...damn!
Worked perfectly, even with Norton GoBack installed (which had given me problems with other copy programs). For a 40G hard drive it took less than 20 minutes with my older system (Dell 8200, 2.8 cpu, 768 ram).
This disk clone software does exactly what it says. It doesn't fall over at the first glitch, It tries to run disks at their fastest speed; but does progressively degrade the interface when errors are reported.
