It's a good freeware 5 stars by bjkelaiya136 Jan 18, 2012
Its an excellent freeware. We need to sequence the order of startup as we all use a lot of big and small programs. It puts things in order. I tried it on Win XP. As precaution , one must follow the correct installation procedure especially placing the program in C:Program Files and running it as it initially imports moves all entries/settings from the windows startup folder to its own folder . Also before removal, one must restore the registry for those applications that could not be exported to the windows startup. The programs is simple and explains this caution when setting up Startright for the first time. It is safe and simple AND FREE. The downside is the author says on his website -- It is not in developmental stage and it is not compatible with Vista or higher as it cannot get a grip on the registry keys in Vista or higher to setup. One has to however delete the registry key of Startright in Win XP by using another Startup Manager program or whichever he may find as freeware. I wish it was developed for Vista , 7 and more and still be a freeware. showShow review details
Think restore point with startright! 2 stars by farpointstation2 Oct 31, 2007 (Read all my 7 reviews)
WARNING! Do not run StartRight on any OS/machine that can not create a Restore Point! StartRight performs as advertised, BUT should you want to reverse the effects of StartRight on your boot-up/start-up process, that's where the spanner hits the gears! I was of the opinion that StartRight actually lengthened my start-up time, but the longer start-up (about 45 seconds) was smoother and less chaotic than a normal Windows start. I have about 15 apps starting under XP Pro. When I attempted to restore the start-up sequence to normal, it was light out! About half of my start-up entries had disappeared from the start-up folders! Fortunately, I make it a habit to create a Restore Point at boot-up at the start of the day. Reverting to the boot-up Restore Point saved my blood pressure from spiking! RightStart is OK to run, just be sure you have a Restore Point as back-up! showShow review details
I like it! 5 stars by caboing Aug 14, 2007 (Read all my 18 reviews)
It was really simple to me and it worked really well. But I think that for most user its will be a bit complicated. Nevertheless its excellent. showShow review details
Avoid this 1 stars by zbdzbd Jan 12, 2007
It deleted my anti-virus and firewall from startup. It did not improve startup times and had no clear explanations of what it was doing. There was no information about settings or anything. One of the worst programs I have tried. Wow, was I disappointed in using this. Just beware of what will happen. showShow review details
Works... but... 2 stars by Nicholas Jan 08, 2007 (Read all my 53 reviews)
Yes, it works but... StartRight does not work as promised. It slows down my startup sequence considerably. I clocked it: 2 minutes and 19 seconds with StartRight and 1 minute and 37 seconds without it. If you have to switch frequently between Windows and Linux StartRight is an annoyance. showShow review details
Worked for me 4 stars by sandiegan92111 Aug 03, 2006 (Read all my 14 reviews)
I was experiencing an almost 2 minute delay in the startup of a program launcher after all other startup programs and processes were loaded. StartRight fixed the delay automatically--the launcher loads now in about 12 seconds and all other programs in approximately 1/3 less time. Its worth a try if you have startup delays as an alternative to shareware. showShow review details
Very well done 4 stars by ModusOperandi May 29, 2006
StartRight is an app that I just stumbled upon, so I don't have much expertise on what is available from commercial applications. All I can say is that StartRight works as advertised. As an aside, I finally disabled qttask.exe by using it. I would easily recommend this to anyone frustrated by the lack of responsiveness exhibited by Windows during the first minute after login. showShow review details

A very nice revision 4 stars by thomthowolf Oct 31, 2005 (Read all my 8 reviews)
I have used this program before, but found it a little buggy. This revision appears to have cleared up the bugs that were bothering me, and I am back to using it again. I love the ability to control the order of launching, and the timing of each program. There are better startup managers out there, but none of them are FREE. showShow review details
It's far from the best . . . 3 stars by gbjennings Oct 29, 2005 (Read all my 21 reviews)
This utility is a 'nice try', but it pales in comparison to a real startup manager - one that allows you to wait until certain startup programs have closed before opening the next, or varying the timing between startup programs exactly as you choose... showShow review details
Doesn't work. 1 stars by ChrisPollard Aug 01, 2005 (Read all my 2 reviews)
This seemed to work at first, but it took a long time to load the first program on the list, so long in fact, that it actually slowed down the system rather than speeding up the boot sequence. Next day, the programs in the start menu didn't run at all, and had to be started manually. The hard way as they were no longer inthe startup menu. The ones called from the registry were running, but I hadn't asked startright to touch those. I tried to restore the programs, but it wouldn't let me do it easily as they were no longer listed. I had to install again, which somehow (ini file?) found them and I was able to restore them. There's no uninstall option, I had to delete the file then go into the registry to remove it. showShow review details
