RoboTask can run as NT Service, allowing you to have automated tasks take place, even if you are not logged on. A powerful tool, that provides one of the highest levels of flexibility in its class.

GoodSync is a file synchronization tool that enables you to backup your files and/or synchronize them with another location such as a different drive, folder, USB drive, network location or Amazon S3 storage account. The program supports one-way and two-way synchronizations, it can propagate deletions and check for conflicts, which can be reviewed and approved before executing the synchronization. You can also execute jobs automatically when a removable device is connected, periodically, or schedule via Task Scheduler. Other features include file filters and exclusions, support for time shifts, chained syncing, backup of deleted files and more. After the 30 day trial, GoodSync can be used for free for up to 3 synchronization jobs with less than 100 files each.

ViceVersa Pro is an advanced utility to compare, mirror, synchronize files, and to backup folders and disks. You can choose from five different ways to compare your files (synchronization, backup, mirroring, replication, consolidation), and the differences will be shown side-by-side in a graphical, easy to understand display. The program can process the files with the click of a button or you can set-up automatic batch projects and run them with your preferred scheduler or run them in real-time as soon as file changes are detected. ViceVersa Pro can track file deletions and file conflicts, copy locked or open files, copy NTFS attributes and data streams, and works with all storage media, including removable drives, CD/DVD, USB etc. as well as network drives. Backup4all is a full featured backup tool that allows you to define custom backup configurations to meet your personal needs. You can backup to local or network locations, remote FTP servers, or to CD/DVD, using the built-in burner software. Setting up a backup configuration is made easy by the backup wizard that guides you through every step. Options include optional file filters (by attribute, date, size, name etc.) and a built-in scheduler to run your backups unattended as a service. Backup4all also enables you to see what files have changed since the last backup and to preview the statistics for the next backup. It can backup files that are in use Additional features include password protection, AES encryption, zip compression, Explorer integration, incremental/differential backups, CRC32 verification, disk spanning, and more. Backup4all works with any drive letter, including mapped network drives, DVD/CDR/CDRW media and UNC paths.

Image for Windows backup and restore utility that creates a snapshot of a selected partition or volume, and saves it to disk, or burns it directly to most DVD+RW+R-R-RW or CD-R/RW drives. Using a disk image as a backup allows you to restore your entire system with all programs and setting intact, similar to a recovery CD that came with your computer. The program can create the disk image from within Windows (you can keep working), using the free PHYLock add-on, or optionally from DOS with the included Image for DOS utility. It also provides a tool that allows you to browse the disk images and extract individual files from them, rather than restoring the entire drive or partition.

SyncBack is a flexible, and powerful backup and synchronization program that allows to maintain backup copies of your files and folders, or to synchronize them, so that both locations always have a complete copy (e.g Laptop/PC). It offers different types of actions that let you choose how older and newer files are processed, which files should be excluded (by mask) and more. Features include standard file comparison based on the date and size, as well as optional MD5 checksum, which will detect even the slightest modifications to files. SyncBack also supports scheduled projects, advanced FTP backup with encryption, zip compression of backups, as well as network login, simulation runs and more. The program can even backup files that are open or in use. Great value for the price!

Driver Genius Professional enables you to update, backup and restore your system drivers. It can automatically detect all drivers, or only non-Microsoft drivers, and allows you to create a normal or compressed backup set of all selected items. If you ever have to you reinstall the operation system, you can use the Restore (auto-install) function to restore all the drivers with a single click, rather than having to search for your original CDs. In addition, the program can also help you find and download updated drivers that are avaialble for your system, and diagnose driver or device problems.

Backup2009 Pro (formerly Backup-2006 Studio) is a powerful backup utility with many options and a user-friendly interface. It supports compressed backups with unlimited zip file size (Pkware, Deflate64), network drives, removable media (with spanning) and even comes with a built-in burner, so you can burn your backups straight to CD-R. You can schedule any job, upload your compressed backup archives to an FTP or HTTP server for off-site storage and more. It offers a graphical backup map, catalog, log files and can email you when a job is done. Backup2009 Pro is able to manage backup in classic mode (1 file per job) or in unique archive mode (1 file updated by each job). The interface allows you to select the folders or files to be included from a tree-view and also by wildcard. It includes pre-set backup options like: My emails, My documents, Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Shell and Registry, that allow you to quickly add them to your backup routine. The backup sets are cataloged and can be searched without opening each individual archive file. Additional features include a graphical backup manager, emailing of log files and more.

Handy Backup is an easy-to-use program designed for an automatic backup of your critical data virtually to any type of storage media including CD/DVD devices and remote FTP servers. In addition, it offers strong file encryption and multi choice zip compression on the fly as well as many other useful features to protect your valuable data. All backup activities are logged in detail. The program can backup your files to CD or DVD without the need for additional burner software. Special plugins are provided to facilitate the backup of ICQ, system registry and MS Outlook data.

Genie Backup Manager Home Edition allows you to create backup sets or archives for files and settings on your machine, which can easily be restored when necessary. It backs up files and folders, e-mails, Outlook Express files, Outlook 2000/XP/2007 files, Favorites, Windows Address Book entries and fonts. One unique feature of this program is the option to create a self-extracting exe file from your backup sets, that can be restored later without the need for Genie Backup Manager to be installed.

BackUp Maker is a personal backup tool that can create backups in ZIP format. It can optionally backup the files directly to a CD-RW or DVD drive, a local folder, or a remote FTP server. The program comes with most of the common options like file exclusions, scheduled backups, dated files, incremental backups, password protection and more. It also offers password protection for the zip files and supports spanning across multiple disks. BackUp Maker lets you create quick one-time backups as well as scheduled backups that occur on a regular basis. The interface is easy to use and offers an advanced mode that reveals the additional features (file masks, exclusions etc.). The evaluation version can only backup files smaller than 1mb.

DataPilot enables you to backup, synchronize, transfer, and personalize the content on your mobile phone. The software is compatible with more than 650 phones from all major manufacturers and enables you to perform various task from a convenient PC application rather than the phone interface. You can edit or extend your address book, import your contacts from Outlook or Outlook Express, backup your existing phone data to your computer, upload images or wallpapers to your phone and more. If you upgrade to a new phone, you can easily transfer all your data to the new one. Furthermore, the program enables you to compose custom ringtones using a MIDI editor and a musical notes composer. DataPilot also includes feature that enables you to use your cellphone for Internet connectivity when you are on the road (disabled during trial). Phone connectivity is supported via USB cable, BlueTooth, serial cable or Infrared connection. Even though DataPilot supports a wide range of phones, not all the features will be available with every phone. The company offers an online directory that allows you to check which features are supported on your device.

Handy Backup Pro is an easy-to-use program designed for an automatic backup of your critical data virtually to any type of storage media including CD-RW devices and remote FTP servers. In addition, it offers strong file encryption and multichoice zip compression on the fly as well as many other useful features to protect your valuable data. All backup activities are logged in detail. The program can backup your files to CDRW without the need for additional burner software. Unlike the standard Handy Backup program, Handy Backup Pro can be run as a service under Windows NT/2000/XP.

Smart Undelete is a file unerase and data recovery software that works with hard drives and removable disks, including USB sticks (but not with media cards). It is simple to operate, just select the drive and press the scan button, and view the list of files that can be recovered. The program can limit the search to specific file types or extensions, and also offers an option to save and restore to/from an image file. Smart Undelete only performs a quick surface scan, and does not have the recovery capabilities of more advanced tools.

Synchromagic enables you to synchronize files and directories, either one-way or bi-directionally, with many useful options. Synch files/folders on one computer, from one to another, from one to several, or from several computers back to just one. Tasks can also be performed over a local area network, and to FTP sites. Mirror sites can be created for disaster recovery or to backup files, directories, and even entire drives.

Active@ Disk Image enable you to create complete system backups that can be used to restore your entire computer, including operating system, programs and settings. It allows you to create a sector by sector copy of hard drives or disk partitions that can be restored from a bootable CD or DVD. The image files can be saved to the local computer, a network folder or burned to CD/DVD discs. Other features include an integrated scheduler for automated backups, a disk image explorer, image splitting, password protection and more. Active@ Disk Image can also be used to clone a disk directly from one drive to another, useful if you are upgrading to a new hard drive.

ABF Outlook Backup is a backup and synchronization tool for MS Outlook, that allows you to backup and restore your messages, address book, settings, accounts, message rules, junk email lists, signatures, and also your internet favorites. Using the program, you can also backup your data on one computer and restore them to another, for example your laptop. ABF Outlook Backup has an easy to use interface. It integrates with Windows Task Manager, so you can easily schedule backups to be performed automatically.

Acronis True Image provides a complete PC backup and restore system that allows you to create disk images of your hard drive partitions (or selected folder structures) and store them in a secure location. The backup images can include your entire system partition, including Windows with all programs and settings, so that you can restore your computer to a previous state without having to reinstall Windows or any of your programs. Acronis True Image can also perform incremental and differential backups for selected files and folders, thereby adding traditional backup functionality to the disk imaging features. You can continue to use your PC during the disk imaging operation, no system reboot is necessary. The program can also create a Rescue Disc that enables you to restore your computer in case it becomes inaccessible. Other features include integrated CD/DVD burning, disk cloning, scheduled operations, file exclusions, password protected backups, and Acronis Secure Zone, which enables you to safely store your disk images on a protected partition.

Back4WinXP Backup is an easy to use backup software that supports industry standard ZIP compression. You can optionally backup your data as an EXE file that can be expanded on most machines without the need for decompression software. Backups can be labeled with a unique timestamp and spanned across disks. The program offers various modes of backup operation, you can add files to a zip catalog, refresh existing ones, copy files, move files and more. Back4WinXP works with any drive letter, including mapped network drives and an additional stealth mode feature allows you to monitor and automatically backs up selected files as they are changed, keeping each version so that you can revert back to any previous version.

TK8 Backup is a backup tool that can automatically backup your files and folders, as well as Address Book, Favorites, Outlook, Outlook Express emails and settings. You can backup to local folders or drives, upload backups to remote FTP servers, or create backup CDs/DVDs with the integrated burner software. Additional features include built-in scheduler, zip compression, splitting of large backup sets, password protection and more. TK8 Backup also offers a monitoring feature that can automatically start a backup when it detects that your files have been changed.

MySQL Backup Watcher offers an easy to use interface to schedule and specify backups of MySQL databases. The backup sets can be password protected and scheduled to take place automatically. In addition, MySQL Backup Watcher can optionally apply a compression scheme, to conserve disk space.

RollBack Rx Professional enables you to restore your system (or portions of it) to a previous state, thereby repair computer problems caused by recent changes, virus or other modifications. Unlike standard backup tools, this program will restore your entire system including registry, settings, tweaks and all other details in addition to your files. You can maintain multiple snapshots, going back minutes, hours, days or even months, and restore any size hard disks in seconds. RollBack Rx Professional allows you to exclude specific folders and files from a restore operation, allowing you to maintain the most recent copies of important documents or files. The interface is easy to use, and suitable for novice and advanced users a like. It supports on-demand snapshots, as well as scheduled snapshots and automatic restore options. RollBack Rx Professional uses a patent pending technology which creates snapshots that only require 0.07% of total hard disk space and allows users to create up to 60,000 snapshots.

Synchredible is an easy-to-use tool for folder and file synchronization. It offers a wizard interface that lets you set up the synchronization jobs, select files to exclude, schedule the job for automated execution and more. Additional features include support for network and external drives, CRC32 checking and more.

BackRex Outlook Backup allows you to backup and restore Microsoft Outlook data and settings. You can save your Outlook folders, address book, tasks, notes, contacts, calendar, message rules, signatures, stationery, and custom preferences. In addition, the program can also backup all Internet Explorer settings, including favorites and history. BackRex Outlook Backup creates a standalone backup set, that can also be transferred from one computer to another in order to migrate settings and Outlook data (even between different versions of Windows and/or Outlook).

In addition, the program can also include critical Internet Explorer settings, as well as custom files of your choice. OutBack Plus can also transfer your Outlook data when you upgrade to a new machine, or need to have your email on your laptop when you travel. Additional features include backup reminders, schedule backups, detailed backup logs, automatic purging of old backup files and more.

Han-soft Auto Backup allows you to backup your data to local disk, network neighborhood and remote FTP servers. It allows you to create multiple backup tasks and run them automatically, using the built-in scheduler. If you need to restore a backup, you can restore the complete set, or select individual files only. The backup sets can be named after the date, which allows you to keep multiple versions of a backup. The program offers compressed or uncompressed storage in a proprietary format, as well as self-restoring backup files (EXE format) that allow you to restore a backup without having Han-soft Auto Backup installed. Additional features include integrated encryption, optional password protection of backups and more.

AlmerBackup is a backup and restore utility that allows you to backup your files to floppy disks, hard drives, network drives, Zip drives, JAZ, SyQuest and most other removable devices including direct burning to CD-RW. You can create multiple backup jobs and have them start automatically on startup, shutdown or based on a user defined schedule. The program supports several types of backup, including simple copy, simple move or deleting old, out of date files and backup files to zip-archive. It can create file names and directories based on date or time macros and keep multiple revisions of a file. Additional features include file splitting for removable media, include/exclude masks, FTP support and logging.

Heatsoft Automatic Synchronizer is a tool for folder mirroring and file synchronization, that enables you to perform automated (or manual) synchronizations of local and network files. You can create multiple jobs with multiple folder pairs to synchronize, and specify detailed options for each, include/exclude files by mask, set comparison rules and more. A wizard allows you to easily configure each operation, and you can perform a text execution to see what actions would be performed during the sync operation. The program can be used for backup purposes, to mirror files across a network and many other purposes. Each job can be scheduled to run automatically at specified times (optionally as Windows service), or as needed via a special shortcut on your desktop.

ShadowSurfer allows you to Undo all changes made to your system during a ShadowSurfer session. Once ShadowSurfer is activated, you need to reboot your PC and whatever changes take place while the program is activated, can be completely undone, returning your system to the state it was before ShadowSurfer was activated. You can activate the session for as long as you wish, and deactivate it easily from the system tray. The session can include all or just selected drives, whichever drives are selected - all data that was created during the session will be completely eliminated. This includes any software installed, browser history, cookies etc, as well as any other changes. Beware that this also includes email and other documents that were received during the session (if they were saved to a ShadowMode drive). ShadowSurfer can be a very effective and easy to use way to temporarily use your system in a shadow mode, however you should be fully aware of the consequences, in order to avoid unwanted data loss. A bright desktop wallpaper clearly alerts you of the ShadowMode while it is activated.

Compare & Backup is an easy to use backup and synchronization software that allows you compare the source to the destination before you perform any copy or delete operations. For easy reference, the compare results are divided into 5 different tabs, each containing a list of files that meets the following criteria: Newer than destination, Older than destination, Can not find destination, Can not find source and Only size changed. By looking at the tabs and file listings, you can easily see the different between source and destination location and use the copy functions to copy files in a tab to the destination or from the source, delete files that are redundant and more. While the tools provides an easy overview, it lacks project management, advanced settings, filters etc. and can only work with one directory (subdirectories) at a time Good for occasional backups, where you want to make sure what is being copied or deleted.

APBackup is an automatic backup tool that allows you to back up your data to local or network drives, FTP or LAN. The backup files can be stored uncompressed or in standard Zip format, with additional support for other compression formats (using plug-ins). The program supports file inclusions/exclusions, as well as backup of files that are open or in use, and maintains a detailed log of all backup operations. Additional features include launching of commands before or after backup, integrated scheduler, conditional backups, email notifications, incremental backups and more. APBackUp can also be installed as Windows NT/2000/XP service.

Paragon Drive Backup Personal enables you to create a backup image of entire hard disk, including operating system with all user preferences and settings, along with all your applications and data files. The disk imaging can be performed in real-time, without the need to reboot your computer. You can run a backup manually or schedule it to be executed automatically at user defined times. Paragon Drive Backup can store your backups on a local drive, a network location or burn it directly to a bootable DVD or CD. The program can run differential backups, including only the files on the drive have been changed. Other features include disk image browsing with an option to restore individual files, hard drive cloning, secure backup capsules and more. Paragon Drive Backup Personal offers an easy to use interface with optional wizards to guide you through the backup and restore operations.

Advanced Directory Comparison and Synchronization (ADCS) enables you to keep files synchronized between two locations, for example between your notebook computer and your PC, a network drive and a local folder or similar scenarios. It can be used for backup purposes, or to maintain an identical set of files in 2 locations. The interface shows you the differences between the locations side-by -side and indicates which files will be copied or deleted. Furthermore, you can apply filters based on file properties (date, size, etc.) compare multiple directories, create reports and more. ADCS also includes a disk space viewer that generates a pie chart to illustrate file distribution in a selected folder or drive.

Kirby Alarm Pro is a combination of personal reminder program and task scheduler, that can automatically remind you of important events with a popup note and optional sound alert, or trigger a variety of other actions including scheduled program launches, FTP uploads, file backups, system shutdowns and more. The program can also be used to send automated emails, either as reminders or recurring notifications. In addition, Kirby Alarm Pro can monitor files and folders for changes and trigger any of the supported actions when the monitored files or folders are changed, files are added or absent or other conditions apply. Other features include optional password protection, built-in To Do list manager, time announcements, and more. Can run as a Service.

Static Windows Mail Backup enables you to backup (and restore) your email and news messages, accounts, mail rules, contacts, junk mail settings, calendar, stationery, signatures as well as Personal Settings. A wizard interface guides you through the backup and restore steps, and an additional Archive Explorer allows you to inspect the content of your backup archive. The program supports optional compression as well as encryption of the backup files.

Driver Magician enables you to backup and restore selected device drivers to a folder or drive of your choice, so that you can re-install them later without the need for your original CD. The program automatically marks non-standard driver (that do not come included with Windows), allowing you to quickly find the drivers that have been added later. Driver Magician can backup your drivers to a folder, compressed file, or standalone auto-setup package.

Auto Outlook Express Backup is a backup and restore tool for Outlook Express, that enables you to backup your email, as well as all or selected Outlook settings, including accounts, address book, signatures, rules, IE Favorites and more. The backups can be stored in a single file and optionally password protected. You can choose to run backups automatically, using the built-in scheduling option, or manually as needed.

EZOutlookSync Portable enables you to backup and/or synchronize your Outlook files (mail, folders etc.) with other computers by using an USB drive. You can easily backup all your E-mail, Contacts, Tasks and other Outlook items to the USB drive and then synchronize other computers or restore your Outlook content from the backup set. Use it to keep a backup of all your Outlook files, or to quickly synchronize mail between your laptop and your main PC.

FlexibleSoft Quick Backup is a very simple backup tool, intended for people that want to manually perform occasional backups. It offers an icon on your desktop (or on top of other windows) that you can simply drag and drop a file or folder on. The program will automatically compress the files and create a dated backup archive in a backup folder.

Insofta Document Backup is a backup tool that supports CD and DVD backup along with local or LAN backup destinations. It offers full and incremental backups with optional AES encryption, and includes a scheduler to run your backups automatically at specified times. A step=by-step wizard can guide you through the process of selecting the files and folders to be included in the backup. Other features include zip compression, integrated CD/DVD burning, Restore Wizard and optional password protection.

Static Outlook Backup is a simple backup software to backup your Outlook .PST file and settings as well as IE settings, Favorites and your My Documents folder. You can backup to a specified folder location, an FTP site or burn the backup to CD or DVD. The program includes a built-in scheduler for automatic backup, however this feature is of limited use as it cannot perform the backup while Outlook is open. Other features include optional backup compression and encryption.

Backup Premium is a backup tool, that enables you to create an incremental backup set of your data on a local drive or remote FTP/SFTP server. It offers an easy step-by-step wizard that lets you select the files and folders to include in the backup, as well as the destination fir the backup files. You can optionally create compressed or encrypted backup and also schedule the backup for unattended execution. The program offers good features for basic backup purposes, but lacks advanced options such as support for other backup types (not only incremental), CD/DVD backup and more. In addition, Backup Premium is limited to a single backup set, therefore you cannot schedule multiple backups nor use FTP and local or network backup simultaneously.

Katchall Archive is a backup tool that will automatically backup all files that you are working on, or that are modified by other processes, and store them in compressed archives so you can recover them if needed. The program does not create full backup sets of your files, but monitors your system and creates backups of files that are changed. You can modify the behavior by adding or excluding file types or paths you specify and either extend or limit the number of files that are monitored. To restore a version of a file, you can right click on it within the Katchall archive folder and select revisions from the Windows Properties dialog. We found the program a little difficult to use and lacking sufficient documentation.

LargeBackup to DVD enables you to easily burn large backups with multi-gigabyte files onto CDs or DVDs in a single batch, using a on-the-fly file split-and-span technique that automatically splits files to maximize storage utilization across multiple disks. The program supports full and differential backup as well as file filters to include or exclude specific files based on attributes and name patterns. Other features include integrated file restore, support for multiple drives and dual layer DVDs.

Backup for Workgroups is an easy to use backup and restore solution designed for medium-sized businesses that enables administrators to backup content from selected workstations, Exchange Servers (addtl. cost), Active Directory(addtl. cost) and MS SQL Servers that are located on the network. The backups can be schedule to run unattended at specified times, as well as on demand. Additional features include optional backup encryption, backup reports, email notifications and more. Backup for Workgroups is a server/client application that stores all backup data in a central repository that can be located any hard drive.

Gladinet Cloud Desktop enables you to integrated many popular cloud services into your desktop. It allows you to mount online storage accounts (FTP, WebDav, Amazon S3, EMC Atmos, Box.Net, Google Docs, Picasa etc.) as virtual folders in Windows Explorer, allowing you to work with the content almost as if the files were stored on your local computer. You can upload and download files to/from the cloud service by simple drag & drop into the virtual folder. The program also includes a basic Backup Manager that allows you to automatically backup the content of local folders to your cloud service provider. Other features include download/upload acceleration, file type exclusions, profile encryption and secure password storage.

Argentum Backup is a handy tray tool that lets you easily backup your documents and folders. It safely protects you from accidental deletes and overwrites. The program is designed to be suitable for both beginners and advanced users. Backups are stored in Zip files and can be created both manually and automatically using the built in scheduler. Argentum Backup also includes a number of templates to backup Windows registry, Windows shell settings, E-mail messages and address book, database of your favorite messenger (ICQ, MSN, Yahoo!, AIM). Advanced features include powerful stacking, file masks, adjustable backup store, different backup strategies and more.

BackupOnDemand is a real-time backup tool, that runs in the background and monitors your important files for changes. If files (that you monitor) are changed, it automatically backs them up to an archive, using the specified location on your drive. With BackupOnDemand, your backups of important files are always kept up to the minute. In addition, the program enables you to store up the last 999 versions of each file in your archive, providing you not only with one, but multiple versions of a file, allowing you to "go back in time" and recover an older version of the file. Files stored in the BackupOnDemand archive are compressed and can be saved to to another directory, a second hard drive, a removable drive, or even across the network to another computer. In addition to the real-time backups, BackupOnDemand also offers traditional scheduled backups, periodic backups and manual backups.

Active Backup Expert Pro performs automated or manual backups of local and network files in .zip format on hard disks, CDs and other removable devices or in a LAN. A Wizard guides you through the steps of a backup-set creation: supplying the paths and filters for included and excluded files, specifying the storage folder and setting to schedule, selecting the incremental or differential backup method. Having configured the backup-set only once, you are free to create as many backup copies as you wish. You can easily restore the files stored in a backup, view or edit their content. The export and import features are useful to synchronize the folders on two or more PCs and to span the large backups across multiple disks. Automatic USB Backup is a backup tool that automatically synchronizes your important files to a USB drive (or other external drive) as soon as you insert the device. You can select one or more folders, exclude certain files and choose between several different backup methods. As and additional safety measure, the program can create an additional backup of any files that are deleted during the synchronization. The backup operation can be performed with or without user interaction. Automatic USB Backup works as advertised but has some significant shortcomings, as it does not allow you to add files or folders to a backup without having to reconfigure the entire set, which can be difficult if you selected a fully automatic backup. WinBackup Standard is an automatic backup and recovery software that enables you to create multiple backup sets to protect your valuable data. It provides an easy-to-use interface that lets you select the files to be included, and also includes shortcuts to many popular file locations like Internet Explorer settings, Outlook/Outlook Express email folders, address book, settings, and more. The backups can be scheduled to run automatically with the built-in scheduler. WinBackup Standard works with local backups, as well as removable drives and burning to CD/DVD media. Additional features include password protection, restore wizard and more. What we didn`t like is the fact that backups can only be created in a proprietary .w2b format, which can only be restored and used by the WinBackup software - therefore any CD/DVD backups are useless, unless you have the WinBackup software to restore them.

KeepSafe is a real-time backup tool that is designed to act as a safety net against accidental modifications caused by editing or other modifications to a file. It is not intended as a full scale backup solution, but rather to provide protection during those times between backups. You can let the program monitor a list of folders and specific file types within those folders, and whenever you modify one of the protected files it will automatically create a backup copy and maintain an archive of file revisions, allowing you to restore a previous version of the file if the need arises.
