Disk Redactor
prevent deleted files from being recovered
Disk Redactor enables you to wipe the free space on a selected hard drive, thereby overwriting any previously deleted files, making recovery difficult or impossible. The program will not delete any of your existing files, it only wipes files that have already been deleted (but could be undeleted by data recovery programs). Disk Redactor can preserve the last 16k of a drive, an option that should be selected if you are wiping the free space on a system drive (usually C:). The program supports single or double overwrite for increased security.
Pros: Easy to use.
Cons: Does notconform to any security standards like DoD or Gutmann.
