Stream Explorer
reveals NTFS file streams
Stream Explorer allows you to view the content of additional data streams for files under 2000/XP. Under Windows 2000/XP, files can contain additional streams, which often contain data in regards to properties, hard link information, object identifiers etc. The additional streams are created for example when you are using the Summary tab and add additional information to a file (author, comments etc). When you copy a file that contains additional streams to a non-NTFS volume, you will receive a warning in regards to Stream Loss, since FAT volumes (Win 95, 98 etc) do not support these additional data streams. You can use Stream Explorer to view the stream data and find out what will be lost if you copy the file.
