Parse-O-Matic Power Tool (POMPT) is a programmable file parser that enables you to edit and manipulate the content of text based files, using a powerful scripting language, that allows you to parse and reformat the data and export it into a different format. Some of the many uses include extraction of contact data from mailing lists, removing bad data, changing characters, splitting or reorganizing files, and just about anything else you can think of. Parse-O-Matic Power Tool supports input from flat text files (ASCII from Windows, Unix/Linux or Mac, EBCDIC from a mainframe, log files etc.), binary (hex), fixed length and variable length records, tab/null/comma-delimited (CSV) and Windows clipboard. While the program is very flexible and allows you to perform many advanced parsing operations, it has a steep learning curve. It comes with detailed documentation and a variety of script samples.
