CUworld Video Chat offers multi-person video, conferenced voice, IM, and text chat. The program is designed to easily work through firewalls by using a browser based interface to send and receive the video, audio and chat messages. Using the software is fairly easy, you need to create a user account first (free) and can then join public chatrooms. Turning your video and microphone on is optional, you can still view and listen to other chat participants without sending any video or audio from your end. CUworld Video Chat also includes a basic IM client that you can use to stay in touch with other users. The free guest membership is not time limited but restricted in features as well as connection time. The pay-membership is heavily promoted but not required to use the most basic functionalities.
