I've used this for some time. In addition to easy downloading, it does a good job of compressing and rendering wmv files. My only complaint is that it gives me a *.WMV file rather than *.wmv.

Having noted other reviewers points on codecs etc. Found easy to use program that does what it says it will do. Found flv files play on several applications without further conversions. Also if clip is a music file easy to remove audio as an mp3 file. Had no problem with this little program at all.

Great little program that does what it says it does - downloads flv files quickly and easily. Had a hiccup with the conversions but installing a codec pack called ffdshow got it working and I have successfully converted to AVI and WMV (haven't tried the others).

  File conversion naming problems

Seems OK, but my reason for giving it a low rating is that when converting files (had problems with Dvix format but could just be me) the file name was converted to 8.3 naming convention and did not keep the same name of the oginal file. e.g. "file name.flv" converts to "FILENA~1.wmv"

This is a great program with a great purpose. It's hard to get it to accept the URL, but that's just a bug and takes a little time to make it accept it. Additionally, you have to quick when you get the message Video Not Found, to close the main application, otherwise it keeps allowing that message to pop up. Overall, this is a great program with a person who cares behind it. I think showing the command prompt is a nice breath of air as well, it shows how videos are converted from codec to codec, which is very interesting and educational to study. Best regards to the programmer of this converter.

This simple small program not only downloads Youtube vids, but will convert them for you in another format easily! This one is far better than others I've tried and so easy to use.
