Great scanner!
Excellent application!! I have deployed this product to many PC's. It even picks up viruses and rootkits that Symantec Antivirus missed. I highly recommend installing it as a scanner. The "Protect" (real-time detection) mode may be too much for some users. There are daily definition updates so I recommend that you always make sure your definitions are current before doing a scan.

Spyware Terminator found a Trojan that was slowing my computer down and removed it! I would recommend this product for anyone to use!

Not for me
Way too much bells and whistles And I don't like applications that have an extra toolbar to load. For me this is a no on beforehand. I got rid of it as soon as it was installed.

Does not play well with others
This program seemed to work to good and stopped all my non standard Windows programs to constantly pull block pop-ups even when I checked remember and allow. Had to uninstall it as it was also a memory hog as well... I guess I will stick with the old stand-by "S and D".

Really kills the bug
Mate... thanks to the developer. I accidentally run 'exe' from internet which end-up IE-7 being hijacked. This spyware really blast the bugs. Recommended to hard-core use whose like underground browsing but accidentally end-up being hijacked.

I have tried others but...
I have tried others but keep going back to Spyware Terminator. A great free anti-spyware and even catches trojans, etc... even had a couple of keylogger detects although not sure if FPs or not. Either way, ran this on an old WinME machine, old HP, and newer computers, been running it for a long time now, no slow downs, doesn't get any glitches or anything of the sort. If others having trouble with this, I would look into other issues. ST is the most friendly with other securities that I have found, no conflicts with anything. Great work!

This one killed that annoying smitfraud-c bug
This program really sped my computer and also the pages are loading quicker and all sorts of stuff. Still I still recommend that you use Spybot S&D for verification purposes to check and see if its on the computer or not. Remember Smitfraud-C is the most dangerous malware you don't want to deal with, its best that you get Spybot SandD and this one together for the best protection from spybots.

Good anti-spyware
A very good anti- spyware. Very few products in the market offer free real protection and scanning. But, using it require advanced knowledge for using it. I is not the quiet kind of protection, but works.

I like it!
Very professional-looking program that runs smoothly and reliably. It detected the remnants of a Trojan and prompted a restart. As soon as the computer had restarted, Spyware Terminator resumed from where it had left off and removed the last traces of the Trojan. Have had no problems whatsoever with Spyware Terminator.

Kind of "iffy"
After using it on a couple of my laptops for a couple of weeks recently I discovered that it tends to slow down a lot. Has some excellent features, but kind of tedious to use. Might also cause some conflicts with other anti-spyware software. The Spyware Terminator program seems to slowly lose integrity after a time and develop glitches.

Slowed my PC down badly.
Used it for 3 months. Slowed my PC down badly. Things started to go wrong so I also installed Windows Defender. It found 3 Trojans and a host of other spyware problems. I have now removed Spyware Terminator and my PC is back to it's old speed and working just fine.

Excellent and impressive with caution
It immunizes first time, but doesn't appear to update its immunization database. I am now concerned about Spyware Terminator since I tried to install its WebSecurityGuard - I got violations, warnings and stops from Tiny Personal Firewall 6.5.92. My enthusiasm is now somewhat guarded.

Wonderful, job on this program!
Finally! I've plagued by the revsc tracking cookie for ages now. All my scanners, As Aware SE, Spy bot search and destroy, and AVG would either not spot it or say they deleted it and didn't! *cheers* Wonderful, job on this program!! I'm keeping it :)

Latest version probs
Had been using ST and liked it very much until download of latest ver. (2.0.0xxx) Clam AV would not integrate, and computer slowed to a crawl and just generally acted "screwy". Uninstall fixed these problems. I would still recommend it if (or when) it can be straightened out. I use W2K, 512 ram, 3gig Pentium processor, Firefox browser...

Great antispyware tool
This software is developed with the CLAM Anti-virus (which is also available for Linux). You do not need to install CLAM (nor should you if you have a active Anti-virus program already installed). Protects the Windows HOSTS file as well as system settings. Slick interface and fast (or full) system scans.

Ships with the Crawler Toolbar
This program now ships with the Crawler Toolbar and the user is given the option to not include it in the install. However, it does install registry keys and files for the toolbar anyway. These bits of code and files are considered spyware by other scanners such as A-Squared Free. I do not recommend it's use until this is corrected by Crawler.

Better if you are have some computer savvy
First the good: the EULA is more than fair; the program installed easily and cleanly; the update facility worked well; the scan was reasonably fast and reasonably accurate and categorized them by tab; when I said "Delete" on the tracking cookies it suggested I Quarantine them first...I like that. The bad: I let it install the browser toolbar helper and told it NOT to change my default search engine. The Google Toolbar later notified me it had blocked an attempt to change my default search engine. Not nice. The search found two programs it wasn't sure of...that's fine. One it identified only by its CLSID...I had to Google it to determine that it was safe. I doubt some less-savvy users would know to do that. At little less than intuitive: I selected both programs and pressed the Move To button. Then I was given the option to Ignore Once or Move To Safe List. All in all a good program. I didn't test the real-time engine.

Thumbs up
Thumbs up to the makers of Spyware Terminator. It found a keylogger, adware, spyware, a dialer and always catches tracking cookies on my computer when no other paid program would dig it out. User-friendly interface and fast scan, with choice of quick, deep or custom scan. The most important feature is the ability to set time intervals for automatic updates. Very easy setup and has Internet, Application and system guard. Has a good start-up manager and many more features that are too numerous to mention. Absolute necessities for today's internet. Even has the option to use ClamAV. Spyware Terminator is the best I've found. Can't understand why it's free! A must-have for newbies or advanced users. Thank you Crawler!

Awesome-but eats up resources
ST is awesome at detecting and removing spyware, has a good interface and is plain awesome. Two downsides-just like most AS, it slows down the system while it scans. The resident shield is as annoying as SpyBot's. I uninstalled it a few days ago because my comp gets dog-slow. Now it's faster. P.S. I've seen a lot of people at Betanews give ST bad ratings without even trying it. Crawler has already stopped adware business, and Spyware Warrior confirms that ST is safe and has already de-listed ST from its black-list. I do NOT work for Crawler and I say ST does not have any kind of spyware or adware.

Superb spyware security
This software had been previously installed on my PC with W98, therefore I did not have the added benefit or security of 'Real Time' protection. I can easily and comfortably state, that I now believe this program [v1.8.4.965] to be extremely comparable with....well let's just say another 'leading brand' of spyware prevention and removal. I do not find Spyware Terminator to be a drain on system resources and find it intuitive and easy to set-up, use and maintain. Well, with live-update enabled it just about takes care of itself while protecting your PC and providing extensive security cover. I find the scanning process to be extremely fast, even in the full scan mode and with the option to schedule a scan built in find this to be a further bonus. I express my sincere gratitude to the developers for their dedication and commitment to providing this superb spyware security measure and prevention utility as genuine freeware. Thank you all very much indeed.

Exceptional value.
I performed a very unscientific side-by-side comparison of Spyware Terminator and my registered version of SpyS----er. Spyware Terminator is easy to setup and use and it caught the same junk that it's competitor found. Plus it's free - you just can't beat that!

One of the best.
Have been using this now for about seven months. Medium footprint, easy on system resources and very stable. Probably the most logically arranged panel interfaces of any anti-spyware program! Scanning is relatively fast with good detection rates. The hips portion is as good as any around. The avclam integration is a nice addition as a first or second line av defense. Updates are minimal in schedule and sizes. In summary this is an excellent free program (one of the very few with realtime protection) but like anything else you should not expect it to be a cure all. Additionally you have to take the time to learn all the various settings/options or else you'll be disappointed with the program out of ignorance.

The only one i have now
I use Spyware terminator for more than 8 months and I recommend it. I do not know any anti-spyware tool that does not slow down the machine while scanning for spyware. Real time protection works fine, lots of interesting features in a way, that i uninstalled other anti-spyware programs I had, like Adaware and Spybot. Terminator with Avast antivirus is all I need.

Turned out to be much better than expected.
Having read about Crawlers past links with Ibis, I approached this program with caution and low expectations. I kept a couple of other scanners on to check it out just to be sure. I needn't have worried, Spyware Terminator is a super bit of kit, highly configurable with a good range of scan settings, excellent real time coverage, automatic updates and scheduling. There is also no nagware trying to get you to fork out for the paid version. As I haven't been infested with spyware I can't vouch for it's cleaning abilities, but the realtime shield is very good at spotting system changes and giving you the option to permit or block. I really like it and have used it to replace Windows defender on all my PCs, definitely a keeper.

My WindowsDefender was screwed up because of ST. I had to reinstall WindowsDefender and said goodbye to ST in order to keep it alive. Also the scanning is slow, plus annoying poups asking permission even for OS actions.

Out you go.......
Yes it scans slow and does slow your system down while scanning. Clam is ok but don't count on it for your first line, it misses a lot. Got adware pop up windows on my machine while the real time protection was on and it couldnt find it. Only one that caught it was super anti-spyware. Even Adaware SE was in the dark. Can you spell uninstall!

Excellent spyware program
An excellent spyware program. Found many spyware and adware items that other programs could not find. The only thing that is slightly annoying is that it turns on its real time shield which I don't personally need but other than that its great. I've seen the stuff it scans and it scans everything essential such as BHO's etc. If your looking for a spyware scanner I suggest downloading this before any other.

An impressive tool for free
I used this software for a week or so this month (Oct '06). Basically the software is a solid enough programme, but it did slow up my PC fairly noticeably. Another drawback was that the allow/deny dialogue box kept popping up over and over again for software, websites and links I had ALREADY 'allowed' or 'denied', even after a fresh computer startup. There is the option to switch off the pop up box notifier in the system tray, but that prevents you allowing/denying future new software, links and sites. I also tried it on beginners and advanced settings, and neither made any improvement to the annoying repetitive allow/deny pop up problem. If I knew how to cure this ongoing prob, I would certainly be using it still. For those reasons, I have decided to stay with Spycatcher Express.

Great but has minor issues.
You can not exclude files or folders or partitions, which makes the full scan take more time than I feel is needed, but you can still select which folders to scan individually. The integration with ClamAV is not perfect, because it can't remember my decisions to ignore files detected by ClamAV. I wanted to report these detections as false detections, but I couldn't. Also, Spyware Terminator can't remember my decision when I open an exe made by shockwave. Other than these two occurrences, Spyware Terminator remembers all of my decisions. I will still recommend this product to everyone, because I haven't had any spyware at all on my system since the day I installed this program. The realtime protection has a lot of features that work and are very effective. The deep scan is very thorough, and every file scanned can also be checked for viruses. Thanks to the author for a very effective program.

Excellent program
This is an excellent anti-spyware program, more like an all in one security package really, that includes real time protection (very rare for freeware anti-spyware program), automatic updating and Clam antivirus Integration (optional). However, you should still have a stand alone antivirus program installed on your PC. Very low on system resources. Clean interface. All in all a very welcome edition to PC security that will complement your existing programs. Excellent.

Great to see The Terminator at Snapfiles.I've used this little gem for months now. Nice features, great support and be sure to check out the database at the site. I stopped using Spysweeper before my subscription ran out. You have the choice of using ClamAV for realtime and scans, either one or not at all. They also have a nice little parental control program available.
