It's a dupe of the original toy. Nothing fancy but was nice to re-visit the 8 ball days. Had some freeze up issues with it but other than that it's alright. It's just for fun of course so can't expect it to be some major application here, it just does what it does. So that said, I rated it on what it's supposed to be, minus the freeze ups. And hey, it's free.

The original ball (for those of us too young to remember)was NOT a video game,it was and is a simple guessing game,as this is,a faithful reproduction, kudos to the author! The way it is used is,you keep it handy until you cant decide something (like who to take to the dance)you use this toy to help you decide, and then you go for two out of three, and then three out of five, and so on...it's innocent fun,not intended to be used to decide important things that call for experience, prayer or the advice of wiser elders to decide,it recalls simpler times when all you needed was a cleverly designed ball and a few minutes to play and smile,God forbid the power should go off for a month, what would you do then?you can make and play this game with three pieces of paper and a pencil,I still like it so I'm going to keep it on my desktop to play with myself thx to the author again.

Well, this is not the best I had come across...really feel that this is a waste of time downloading this. Not fun at all, shake the no.8 ball and I will get my answer almost the same every time. Not creative at all!

To some people, the original Magic 8 Ball toy was not fun at all. This program is supposed to be a faithful reproduction. So, if you didn t like the original, you may not like this program. There s no added sounds, special effects, etc. Also, you ll only get the same 20 responses that the original had. That s not very many, but it s enough that it will NOT be almost the same every time. Anyway, it is what it is. I m sorry you didn t enjoy it.

This works OK, but is not huge fun due to the lack of sound and basic graphics. The replies are also a bit of a letdown.
