PC got too sluggish
This is a program I looked forward to using, but sadly, it was just too 'heavy' on my R31 ThinkPad, XP Pro, Pent3, SP2, .NET 2.0. Pc got too sluggish and each time I tried to use the Tray icon's Menu, the Program crashed! I'm thinking of downloading v1.7 but I noticed its KBs are even larger :( O Well.. there must be another drive detector out there just waiting for me to give it a happy home :)

A minor convenience
It works well for me (XP Pro/SP3). I use it to quickly create and delete shortcuts to both USB and shared drives, which I allocate and deallocate frequently. Documentation of the options would be helpful. A suprising annoyance is tha I have to manually exit the program to shutdown my system. It's convenient in a small way, and the shutdown problem detracts from its value.

Wasn't impressed
First of all, it installed fine, nice little icon, etc... but when I tried to plug anything in, including 2 USB thumbs, 1 gig PNY, 4 gig Sandisk, and 256 Impact, one DVD Iomega, not a one of them were detected. Windows detected them, bypassed Desk Drive, nothing. I did a restart, I know how apps can be, still nothing so finally uninstalled, reinstalled, then finally, just uninstalled.

Unusual idea
This worked OK for USB flash drives, but did not automatically detect the DVD-ROM drive. Not everyone may need this feature, but it is worth a look.
