Best for videos, however ...
jetAudio Basic version 7.1.8
Until there is a way to make it have the same interface for music like iTunes or Mediamonkey has, I can't recommend it for music. Yes I know they have media center but it is nothing like Mediamonkey's or itunes interface. It must be that kind of interface to recommend it for music. If they would just take the time to make it like Mediamonkey with the option to go into video mode, it would be perfect. Specially adding with the toolbar mode, skins and the fact it can play even dvd movies.

Over rated crap
McAfee SiteAdvisor (for Firefox) version 26.6
1st off they change site ratings seemingly daily. 2nd off their testing involving using mcafee anti-virus known to have lower detection and higher false positives then even the freebies antivir and avast. 3rd off they change back and forth on ratings because certain people keep saying a site should be green or red based on if they like the site, not if the site deserves to be red or green. Unless you want an inaccurate anti-phishing add-on. I'd stay clear of this or have it as a secondary.

The best converter
Quick Media Converter version 3.57
Minus the awkward interface its got amazing features like the ability to convert a youtube video into an audio mp3. its not the simplest to use converter but its by far the best freebie.

Second
Pidgin version 2.42
This was my favorite IM until digsby came out and now pidgin takes a distant second. Pidgin is simple to use and both adware and virus free.

Best free audio player so far
MediaMonkey version 3.0.2.1334
For anyone who wants to get away from the bloated iTunes, nothing else can come close. Teen Spirit right now seems to come in a close 2nd.

Good but big problem
Jaangle version 0.94
On default settings a lot of songs come up with a static popping sound. They need to add an auto detect settings for each song to give the best sound possible. Otherwise its a great player.

Best if you download one file at a time
LeechGet 2007 version 2.1
If your someone who doesnt queue up a bunch of files to download then this is the perfect download manager. If however you wish for downloading multiple files go with either orbit downloader or DAP. I dont recommend fdm because all the features are average at best, it is not best at anything on its own.

Good but nothing special
Free Download Manager version 2.5.758
I would not recommend this because there are better download managers out there. DAP, Leechget, and Orbit downloader do a better job of downloading while DAP and Orbit download offer better extras. On top of that the little arrow for free download manager is nothing but annoying and when using in Firefox more times then not Flashgot wont auto-detect like it will the others. FDM is bloatware full of features that are all average at best. Who uses this as a torrent client? I dont. If you want a download manager with extras go with go with Orbit downloader. you want a downloader with security bonus go with DAP and if you only download one file at a time, nothing can be Leechget.
