... not that great ...
WinTasks Professional version 5.03
I had difficulty to install and uninstall the program later (PIII, 400 Mb RAM, 733MHz clock speed). I was using ... before, and I will stick with it. I think it is too expensive for the value + difficulties with the program.

... i would keep it ...
Paint Shop Pro version 9.01
I tried to work with Paint Shop Pro (8.1). It seemed to work good, and I liked it. Before I could buy it I installed Ahead's Nero. Somehow, Nero made changes in my registry, so I cannot open my Paint Shop application. I am not able to figure out how to fix it. - So before you would buy Paint Shop, consider possible interference with Nero.

... most recovered ...
GetDataBack for FAT version 2.31
I had a chance to work with several DATA RECOVERY programs (PC Inspector, Recover My Files, Easy Recovery). GetDataBack was able to recover the most files after the disk was formatted. I will stick with it.

Excluded norton from my computer world ..
Norton AntiVirus version 2004 10.01.13.3
I used Norton on two different computers (both P4, Windows XP, SP2 upgraded). When active, Norton was causing lock-ups on both computers. Later on, one computer hard drive developed buzzing sound, which went away after I inactivated Norton. After updating with SP2, the Norton Internet Firewall was preventing me from downloading any file bigger than 100 kb. So I switched to AVG antivirus (seems to me to be the best from Panda, McAfee, aVast). It's hard to get support for any Norton product.

I've never got too far ...
PC Inspector File Recovery version 3.0
I could not evaluate this product. I have PIII 733Mhz processor, Win98, A+zip+CD-ROM+2xHD - I installed the program with no problem, but it locked up on me every time I tried to run it. So I am in a search for another software.

... easy ...
IrfanView version 3.92
I have been using Irfan for some time for quick view of my pictures and simple work with them. For more complicated editing I have another advanced program. Irfan is good to have.

... i am happy with it ...
IZArc version 3.4.1.6
I have been using WinZip 8.0 and later 9.0. I was not happy so I tried IZArc, and it was a good move. I am happy with it - easy to use, does what I need. I did not try ZipGenius (other highly recommended program) so I cannot compare to that.

... a music tease ...
AudioEdit Deluxe version 4.01
There are several audio editors with very similar properties and functions. AudioEdit Deluxe is one of them. It just did not impress me much ... though it looks pretty. If you want to do some music editing, try Audacity (freeware, very powerful editing features, after initial training very easy to work with).

Polderbits is simple and easy to use...
PolderbitS Sound Recorder and Editor version 3.0.76
Polderbits is simple and easy to use. It is ideal for fast recording of LP's or tapes (it will cut up the tracks for you). It has a few simple functions. - I have old LP's with some bad scratches so I had to switch to Audacity (which has functions for signal corrections).

A keeper!
Audacity version 1.2.0
I have used Polderbits (very simple, excellent for LP's to CD's copying, no effects, you have to buy after a trial period); I used WavePad (advanced yet easy to use, has effects, you have to buy after a trial period); but I am using Audacity (more difficult to use - is more advanced, but has excellent features for mixing music e.g., for dancing performance or for removing cracks from my LP's copied tracks). With Audacity I did not have any problem with installation; you may need to read the manual on the features since it's more advanced; you have to download lame_enc.dll for .mp3 use but it works fine). I am very happy with it - can do a lot with it. I recommend to anybody!
