Why can`t all software be this direct?
ImgBurn version 2.3.2.0
I am always amazed at the amount of bloat and lethargic responsiveness of CD burning programs. When you just want to deal with image files this is the Swiss knife for the job.

Quality defragmentation for everyone!
MyDefrag version 3.16
Read the documentation. You'll learn a lot about defragmentation in a short period of time. It's apparent that the author takes the subject seriously but wants to make the process easy and (relatively) fast as opposed to using the rubbish shipped with Windows. Lots of options for command-line usage too!

The last of its kind you'll ever need.
ICEOWS version 4.20b
Great right-click functionality and also deals handily with the lzh format for all of our drawing files from our Japanese parent company.

A review of the actual product
IE7 Menu-on-Top Tweak version 1.0
It works. Why someone would review their opinion of whether or not the tweak is necessary is like those conversations you have with people who are always hijacking the subject off to something else other than the topic at hand. I downloaded it, applied it, it works (and it's free!), therefore it gets my rating accordingly - not on whether or not I think you should subscribe to a religious argument.

Spel corectlee!
ieSpell version 2.1.1.325
A great tool for those who frequently post messages (and reviews). Before this tool I composed in Word, did my proofing, and then copy-and paste into IE form. Major pain to say the least. Trying to use it with something other than IE? Wah! It does work with Maxthon.

Out-foxes firefox
Maxthon version 1.2.000
Though I'm still concerned about the IE-based foundation, this program has surprises galore. I can't understand wy IE has not caught on to the usefullness of these enhancements. At any rate the ease of use is tremendous. I'll be here for a while, at least. Hooray for the myIE2 team!

Handy dandy ftp client!
Core FTP LE version 1.3b build 1401
I like that the scrolling session log is on top. The two-pane local/ftp site explorer window is straightforward. I'm not a big FTP commando and am usually annoyed with the presumptuous interfaces of many FTP clients. This one did the trick!

About as effortless as they come.
Nico`s Photocopier version 2.31
Sure, lots of scanners come with "one-touch" scanning but they always pull the job into some goofy photo editor. This program is reminiscent of the controls found on a traditional photocopier (hence the name) and has familiar UI for quick print jobs without all the what-not. I usually have it set for 100% grayscale and have found it useful for all sorts of quick work. Thanks Nico!

For serious color aficionados and the curious
Visual Color Picker version 2.5
All I can say is this is a very well thought out tool. Even thought the days of "color safe" Web design seem pre-1999 this tool gives you an avalanche of details that can be used for other color considerations and includes Hex and body tag syntax of your choices. It takes a minute or two to grasp the use of this product (the screenshot is different from the current version in that it is actually three separate forms that can be "pinned" to effect "always-on-top" functionality) but once it is learned the fun has only just begun. A future recommendation would be to let users store color schemes (perhaps some preconfigured ones too?). Good show, Novosib!

Print screen for the rest of us...
Purrint version 14
I consider myself handy with getting Print Scrn captures into Photoshop, PhotoFiltre, etc. but this adds an additional layer of convenience (including an option to copy to clipboard, which I already thought was the case, but anyway...). The only problem is that there is not an option to save to gif (very useful for Web pages, I guess I'll have to stick to doing it the old way if I want that). Output formats are .bmp, .jpg, and .png. Though there's no choice of compression levels for jpg, the stock setting is not bad and keeps the file size relatively small compared to .bmp (a sample of a Web browser page filling the screen was bmp = 770kb, jpg = 167kb). I've never fooled with png. A handy product to add to your IT tool belt!

It pro's best friend...
PsTools version 2.06
Tinkerers will probably pass on this collection of "arcane command line" tools. However they are very powerful and can take a load of stress off a win admins day when used intelligently. Psexec is perhaps the best of the bunch but there's something to be found in all the tools. Documentation could be a little better. Spend a little time and get to know these gems!
