Worked great
BullZip PDF Printer version 5.0.0.609
Needed a PDF Creator that could make an image file into a pdf file. Of course my office program can make pdf documents but not from a bmp image.

It's ok I guess.
Internet Explorer version 7.0
Well it is an improvement in security I guess but the interface is lacking. I mean what's the deal with not being able to remove the search bar and not being able to move the individual toolbars, who puts the menu bar in the middle row, it's always on top on all programs? Not being able to move this is an annoyance. If one could put the menu bar at the top or at least move the standard buttons tool bar to the middle row with the menu bar there could be more room for the tabs. Well just like everything else I guess we have to wait for service pack 1 for this to be the way it should be. I did this on a test machine and have decided to wait a while to put it on my main computer.

Nice program
LockNote version 1.0.3
I have been using this program for a while. The program works well but there is a bug you should know when using it. If you use it correctly the bug won't be an issue. I have reported the bug to the developers and they have responded saying they were able to recreate the issue and sent the info to the development team to correct in a future release. How the bug works. With this program you get an exe file that you can open and change the text then click save as and you will be asked for a name to save the file as and a password. The program will save a new file with the new name and password. Where the bug comes in, you only want to save a new file with the save as using the original unpassworded exe file. If you try to use save as from a file you want to keep you will loose the original contents because it will save both old and new file with the same info. So please either create files from the original file or if using a created file make a copy, rename, edit then save.

Good but not perfect.
Gsitemap version 0.97a
This program works well but it is not perfect. I used it to make my Google Sitemap and it worked fine almost. Just be sure to use the test button on the menu before you upload because you may get a link that don't really work. I got two main page links one good and one bad. You could tell very easily when looking at the xml page because the way the one was configured. When running the check feature it will point out errors and you can delete them. You can also right click any info you don't want on your map and remove it from the list before final save. I am sure once one figures the filers out better there will be less things to remove from the list. The program does not have a help yet but an online help is coming. Although the program is not perfect once you know how it works it will save you a lot of time and effort setting up your Google Sitemaps.

Good but corel users beware.
602PC SUITE version 4.1.04.0908
Hello, first I want to say I must mention Corel but I am not comparing the two programs. That said, 602 Suites seems to be a capable program with some nice features. I did not get in to fully testing it however because I also use Corel Office. I thought this would add a nice addition especially for the photo portion. Well what I found out is that this program uses the same file extension that Corel Office uses for the Tab part of the program. This totally messed up all of my Corel associations. Trying to clean up the registry was a nightmare. I ultimately had to reformat my system and reload because I was not capable of getting rid of all the junk left behind upon uninstall. Maybe with a few hours I could have cleaned up but it was just better to redo my system. So please if you use Corel do not try this program. If you do not use Corel it may be worth a look see. Try this one at your own risk.

Not worth the effort.
Nesox Link Checker Free Edition version 1.11
This program is useless. In my opinion it is a waste of time. First it does not tell you much about the links it finds. It only tells you they are good or bad. It does not tell you where they come from (which page). In my test I had to run each page twice because the first time it finds the main pages but not all and does not give any details. The second run the other pages show up and you get the details but they are of little use to me at least. There are more link checkers out there that do a much better job. Not giving any names the one I like best can be found on this site in the following category. FreewareWeb Authoring Site Management.

Great for basic animated gifs.
UnFREEz version 2.1
Been using this program since 2001. If you simply want to make a quick animated gif and don't need to have different frame rate delays for each image or other special features this this will work great for you. The program is smart enough to maintain any transparent colors you have on your original gif files. The program does not have a help file with it but you should not need it. Just drag the icon of each of the images you want into the window choose the rate speed, choose if you want it to loop(repeat), click make animated gif. Leave the program open and test your new gif. If it is too slow or too fast just change the speed and click make animated gif again. When you have the correct speed then close the program.

Did what was needed.
System Spec version 1.30
If you need a tool that gathers all of the basic information in one place this can do it. All of the information this collects is available through various areas of the operating system it is easier for someone that don't know where to look to get what they need. The only thing I need it for is I work at a place that has wireless internet. We sometimes deny access to certain MAC Addresses. Now when someone complains that they can not get on I can tell them to download this program that does not need installed run it tell me their MAC Address and I can tell them if and why I blocked them. Much easier than walking them through the steps to find the information through the system.

Just what was needed.
SyncBack version 3.2.8.300
I personally do not need backup software. I manually create backups from my computer monthly on CD and daily to my flash drive. One person I help at their company needs a little help backing up across the network. This program was just the ticket. After installing, setting up and tweaking the profiles to their needs they now are willing to do a backup each time they run the accounting software. For them it is now a simple 3 clicks to do an entire backup, better yet the program is set to email me to let me know they did a backup and what the backup did. I will now know without asking when they do a major backup and I can go to the office machine and burn a cd for them. I will also know if they made a mistake. This program has many features some are not visible until you go to the expert mode, more than I can list here. This has to be for me at least the best backup program I have used. Last but not least this program is allowed for free for commercial use.

Don't expect to see all websites with this.
Opera
This browser is ok, however the newest version 8 has some issues. I maintain websites with a javascript based menu similar to a lot of sites. As a matter of fact I use the same program some major companies use. I now find that my menus do not work properly on this browser. According to the makers of my menu they have to work with Opera to redesign the script so it will once again work properly. This means possibly purchasing a new license and reincorporating the new script into the website. By monitoring my site I see the only visit I have ever had with Opera is 1 out of thousands and that was my test visit. Not worth spending all the time to make my site work with this browser. If you do decide to use this browser just do not make it the only one you have. There are better choices out there for you. I gave this a poor value based on price because even free with ads displayed is not good if it don't give you backward support.

Good but not the best.
SIW version 1.49 Build 577
I found this program to be a lot like others. I find it gives a lot of good information and can be helpfull when just wanting to get some information, however I find the program .... to be a better program because to me it is better laid out and also gives links to places where you can download drivers once you identify the unknown item.

A life saver for me.
PowerOff version 3.0.1.3
I have a program I believe similar to Sandboxie. The difference is it protects the whole computer. However the computer needs to be restarted to clean up the mess left behind by the many public users it gets daily. The built in system to do the restart would not work because something on my machine constantly quires the processor and the machine must remain idle for a period of time before the program will restart the computer. This program Power Off was just the ticket. I set the program to run as a service and to not be allowed to be stopped. I set it to reboot each day at 2am. Well now I have a complete setup, Power Off never fails because even if someone is on the machine just reboots no matter what. The program can be set to force close any running programs. I did put up a warning message stating this happens so people are not surprised when everything just shuts down for no reason. If you need a program to shut down or reboot your computer when you are away this is it.

Got a cd burner?
CDCheck version 3.1.2.0
If yes you need this program. After you burn a cd this program will compare the original directory or files to what was put on a cd. This allows you to verify that you have a good backup or what ever. You can even create a hash file of the files to be copied for the cd before creating the cd so if the original files get destroyed you can still verify the contents have not been damaged by scratches as the cd gets older my matching hash files. Until I got this program I was using the Win Diff program included with the windows 98se cd as a stand alone tool. It does a good job but only to a point. Once you get many mb of files it starts giving errors sometimes unless you scan the cd in multiple parts. CD Check is also much faster. Free Personal but asks for a donation if you can. It's worth the donation. Must pay for business use.

This program is ok.
i.Scribe version 1.86
I found this a capable little program. It does a fine job of what it is suppose to do. Is it for everyone no! For me I will need the paid version so I can have more than one account. As for any program of this type you should go to the properties page and tell the program to leave a copy of your messages on the server just in case you do not like the program or it does not work for you this way you can use your old program to go and get your mail. Also as far as not having an uninstall, none is needed the designer states if you used the zip version. Just delete the folder the program was extracted to. This is mentioned in the help file.

I think i'll find something else.
AxCrypt version 1.5.4.2
This is a fine program if all you want to do is encrypt a few files, however if you want to encrypt an entire folder this program encrypts each file separately. This is a pain when you want access to the files inside. You now have to open each separately and put the passphrase for each file you want to open. I will keep looking for a good program that encrypts as a folder and unencrypts as a folder. I know this program can shred files, no big loss because so can Spybot Search and Destroy which nobody should be without.

Noooo way!
eBooksWriter Pro version 2004.12
Thank goodness I use a test computer to try new programs. First the installer is outdated and looks it. The program wanted to install on the root drive. I manually choose program files for my install. The program seemed to run ok except for the habit of wanting to phone home every time you start it or the reader. Once you have an ebook created you would think you could view it, NOPE. When you tried to run the self extracting book it wanted to install a reader which I though was just extracting the book so I put it on the all users desktop. Same trashy installer. Here is the bad part. When I decided to uninstall the reader it took my all users desktop folder with it. All files included. It asked if ok but since you could not read it all I though it was just the program. On top of that when uninstalling the program it did not even delete it's own program folder. Good thing this was a test computer or I would have lost lots of important data. I'll find another program thank you.

Very good
Atnotes version 9.41
Been using since V7. Only had one problem with a very early version of 9 when it would not work with the xp network properly. That has since been fixed. This is the only program that I have that I run at startup except for my antivirus. If you go to the atnotes folder and back up the dat file you will have all your notes backed up in case of a computer failure or if you want to move all notes to another machine.

Tried while it was free.
BitKinex version 2.3
Thought this would be a good program. I however had trouble using it. I have used many FTP Programs and found that most work about the same. This one however gave me problems transferring files in some cases. Just find one you are most comfortable with and keep it. I happen to like Blaze FTP the best.

Is your computer older?
avast! Home Edition version 4.1.418
If your machine is slower I would not suggest this program. I use Etrust Antivirus have since it was free. I can not find a replacement no matter how hard I try. I have a new computer the Avast seemed to work ok on but my older machine could not handle this program. The program was very slow. If you have a more recent machine I would say 1 gig or faster (my new is 2.4) then try the program. I wanted the free version for my play machine which is a 400 but Avast failed to run at any speed. For a free program I would give AVG a try.

Spybot - S&D version 1.3
A must have tool along with adaware and spyware blaster.

Not a programer you say?
Shalom Help Maker version 0.5.2
Other than that all I can say is Excellent. You do not need a program to need this program. Have you ever had to write a help manual for anything. Say how to take an inventory at your job. Tell your friends how to do something with their computers? This program makes manuals just like come with programs, except with a bit of credit to the program maker. Worth a try.

Get version 5.71
RoboForm version 6.0.9
If you only use the IE browser and do not need the features of the pro version download the last of the 5 series. This version works just fine and has 30 pass cards instead of 10. Other than that all I can say is Excellent.

Quit clicking.
PTFB Pro version 2.0.0.1
Surely you have a program or two that constantly pop up windows you have to click buttons for. Use this program and never click again. The website still has the free version available with just a few less features.

So simple
PureText version 2.0
So you just wrote a document in a word processor. Now you want to past it into another program. Oh no you have all the formatting. This program will simply remove all the formatting with the click of one button in the sys tray.(notification area). You could paste to notepad then recopy but why when this tool is available.

Nice
PIXresizer version 1.0.7
Does not do a lot but what it does it does well. Can't give it an excellent because there are so many. This is quick and safe because it does not change the original just makes a copy at the new size down and dirty simple..

Fill out a lot of forms?
ieSpell version 2.0.1.325
If you fill out a lot of web forms you really need this program if you are not the greatest speller. Nothing like misspelling something on a webform or an ecard and then never hearing the end of it, especially if it is embarrassing. Just one click and your forms and text boxes are spell checked. Can't live without it.

Share file with friends with control.
HFS - HTTP File Server version 1.6a
With this program you can share any files from your machine you want. You can password protect access as well as control who has access by blocking IP addresses of abusers. This program can be turned on and off at will. You can even stop a download in progress if needed. If you want you can customize the interface the users see when they log into your page. If you do not have a static IP you will need to get a program that tracks dynamic ip's if you need users to find you anytime. But if you are just going to make a file available for a friend to download just email your current IP and they can get to it. If using XP SP1 you will have to go to internet connection sharing and turn on the ftp in advanced. I believe in SP2 which I do not have yet you just give the program permission.

Perfect for html
Crimson Editor version 3.60
I use this program to hand code html. It is not my only editor and does not have the greatest spell checker, however when making global changes to my site this is what I use. Example: You want to change one word of phrase that appears on many pages. Open all of them in the tabbed program, copy the wrong info open the search and replace and go from page to page, saves lots of time.

Could not get easier.
Convert version 4.10
I have been using this program since 1998. I started with version 4.0.8 and now use 4.10. The only change is some calculation corrections. Even in the older version I did not find any mistakes that I know of, however I did not check into the deep stuff. I would guess since the errors were fixed in 4.10 and no changes since 1999 that Josh has confirmed that all calculations are 100%.

Save clips forever.
Clipboard Magic version 3.0
This is a great program. Need to copy more than one line from your file to another. With this you can open one file and copy as many different clips that you want. Then simply open a new file and past in one by one. This is great for archiving clips for later use. You can save each group of clips as a file for accessing again. Better yet you can back up your clips by simply saving them to a disk. I do not have the most up to date version but have tried it. I just don't need all the features of the newest version so I still use 1.37.

Such an easy program to use.
Sheilsoft CDMenu version 3.0
This not a program you install. You simply unzip the files and crate a directory for the files you want on your cd. You then hand edit a configuration file which is easy with the included instructions. From there simply copy the files to your cd and you are ready to go. There are more sophisticated programs out there but this is by far the best for the money and with nothing to install, who could ask for more. This only the second shareware program I ever purchased. Everything else I get is the free programs.

A general program.
Image Analyzer version 1.21
This program is not the best I ever seen but has been able to replace a couple of missing features from programs that I once had that will not work in XP. Mostly I use the program to resize images and to do a quick icon or cursor. There are other more capable programs but for some jobs this is my tool of choice.

What a great program.
Screen Calipers version 2.2
This has to be the best program I ever downloaded. This is a perfect program to measure items on your html pages as well as other stuff. I use the program to align pictures on my site and to measure blank space on my site to make sure my pages always stay centered like I want them. This is shareware but can be used indefinitely for free with just a nag screen and a couple of disabled features. I still use 2.1 even though 2.2 is out. I just don't need the couple of new feature changes in 2.2. If you pay for the program you will get to use the custom tools and turn off the splash screen along with other measure types including a measure that will tell you how large an image will print from your printer. I like the free stuff and this is only one of 2 programs I have ever paid for that I did not have to. The other one was only 2.00. Every person with a website should have this one. Nothing else like this on the net.

What a time saver.
Xenu Link Sleuth version 1.2f
Been using this program for about 3 years now. Each release only gets better. You could not ask for a better program to test your website and report any links that no longer point to anything. This program has saved me hours of time. I only wish I had found it sooner.
