EverNote
  • Freeware
  • Win2000/XP

qleft  Nagware was the last straw  qright

EverNote version 2.0.0.261
  • Interface: 2
  • Features: 4
  • Ease of use: 3
  • Value: 3
  • Overall: 3

As other reviewers have mentioned, the interface is cluttered and the program, although powerful, is not particularly easy to use. 2 reasons why I dropped it: 1, not very easy to search; depending on what view you are in, it will not search all your notes and that was a pain, but the real reason to drop this bomb is the nagware (not 1 but 2 annoying "offers" to purchase the full version on every reboot). buh bye.

POP Peeper
  • Freeware
  • WinWin (All)

qleft  I use it every day!  qright

POP Peeper version 2.3.5
  • Interface: 3
  • Features: 4
  • Ease of use: 5
  • Value: 5
  • Overall: 4

Pop Peeper is awesome! It's a simple program (a little crude on the interface, but usable) but does exactly what I need it to do: keep tabs on my yahoo account without having to use the yahoo interface! If you regularly use a yahoo account, Pop Peeper is a MUST! FYI, after I delete the emails i don't want using pop peeper, i download the ones i do using yahoo pops! another great program.

I had been using yankee clipper, but i find this app much better. The challenge is figuring out the many options this app offers. After about 10 minutes of messing around I had configured it to my liking and added a few items to my "templates" which I can access from the system tray, or with a quick "ctrl-a".
