I started using this firewall yesterday. I am not crazy about the novice interface but I like editing the rules in advanced mode. It is an excellent firewall.

I put this utility on my task scheduler twice a week at 3 am and my computer stays running fast. Great for defragmenting vmware images.

I love this defrag utility. I am only using the trial version. The price is great and i`ll probably buy it. I wanted to speed up my virtual machines and this utility did the trick. The server version might be a good buy for a terminal server.

Almost complete expense tool

I was looking for a expense management software. Acemoney is missing a couple of features like the ability to apply a rate to a transaction. Also it would be nice to be able to add expense accounts by default. May be on the next version. The full version is really inexpensive

I tried Google talk beta a few weeks ago. It is a lot smaller than skype and it does what is supposed to.

I use this startup manager. It shows the location of the startup entries. I wish disabled entries could be blocked.

I like using this program after running the spyware cleaning programs. It also helps to clean up disk space. I am not sure if I like the new interface better than the old one. I am sure the author does.

Great little program

I tried SyncBack a few days ago. I also used cobian backup for a while. My ultimate solution was robocopy and enabling traffic shaping on my router.

This program has not being updated for a couple of years. The default settings are annoying and they are hard to configure in per user basis. This a really good substitute for rdpclip. I would i assume that an admin template would work good with it.

The 2003 version is not the latest and greatest. The antivirus is my favorite. For firewall and anti-spyware, I prefer ZoneAlarm and MS Anti Spyware.

Works great for remote backups. It does not support Unicode character. if you live in china, you might want to select another one.

I dont know if this program is good for backups, but it is certainly good enough for any desktop. It can split files too and it is not as complicated as WZ.

Great free syslogd
SolarWinds Kiwi Syslog Server version 7.2.18

I really like this syslogd, the free version has many features. The only other free syslogd I know is the inetutils win32 syslog. It runs as a service so you dont have to be log in to keep track of your devices.

It is a good instant messenger and great Internet telephone. Drives my personal firewall crazy and it uses 26 mb of ram, i would not recommend putting this program on your terminal server. We are now looking at Google talk.

I really like this script trap program. I wish it had a couple of features. 1st I wish I could enable virus scanning for every script that is in the allowed list. 2nd I wish I could select wich extension are to be trapped. Anyway it works great.
