Awesomeness!
Trillian version 3.1
Trillian is, after trying many similar programs like this, the one I've gone with for over a year. I love installing the skins (especially the deviantart skin) and being able to logon under YIM, AIM, and MSN all at once. It supports multiple accounts from each messenger (login under two YIM names at once), skinning, sounds, voice chat, and more! It takes a minute or so to load on startup, but that's alright. I wouldn't use any other one.

Ah, does just what it should!
Metty version 1.31
I use Metty to make Meta Tags quickly for my website. I love being able to plug in all the information and generate it on the fly. I've never had crashes from metty or any other problems. It's just small and does it's job obediently.

I want it
AbiWord version 2.4.4
The only reason I don't use AbiWord instead of MS Word is because it wouldn't be fair to my family, who all use this machine (and MS Word) and I don't want to install excess programs to take up space. When I did download this just to test it, I found it wonderful! I'm actually envious of those who get to use it because it's so much smaller, loads so fast, and has all the tools needed to write and format good documents. MS Word is so supersaturated with tools that people never use that it's just ridiculous. AbiWord, on the other hand, is just right. She's small, beautiful, and young. I want her.

I adore the interface
PhotoFiltre version 6.2.4
For an interface hag like me, I found this one extremely clean and elegant. The tools are simple and basic, but perfectly fulfilling for digital photographers. I say download this small, fast-loading, fast-running program if you're looking for effects and basic photo editing. It's so clean and easy to learn, no matter how computer-illiterate you think you are! But if you're a digital artist/painter and graphics designer like me, look elsewhere for layers and other advanced tools.

It's cool
Paint.NET version 2.5 beta
Indeed, one large step up from MS Paint. It's a wonderful replacement, but not a good tool to make advanced graphics with, despite the fact that it has layer support. The tools are basic, but it loads fast and serves most common needs.

Extremely nice for tradionalist painters
Project Dogwaffle version 1.2
As said, this is a very nice program. It loads fast, runs fast, and looks terrific. For those used to tradional mediums, this program has everything they'll need: color wheels, undo levels, alpha effects, opacity and size values plus more. For digital painters who are used to layers, this program isn't as good. There's no layers or ability to make custom brushes and don't even try this to make graphics with. It's purely a little piece of heaven for tradional artists looking into the digital world.

Good for digital painters
Pixia version 3.3a
Pixia has so many selection tools. It has layers, masks, filters, ability to add custom brushes, patterns/textures, and filters. I used it for a long time and, though I use other software now, I still keep it for fun painting. There's no airbrush, but the opacity/density brush values easily make up for it. The resize feature is poor as well. Also, the interface is difficult to learn since it requires a separate pencil tool to be selected in order to use the paintbrush and other painting tools. Besides that, wonderful art can be painted with Pixia! It's small, but the interface makes painting fun, and it takes up a very little bit of space. Download it, play with it!
