Excellent
Web Album Generator version 1.8.2
I can't tell you how long I have looked for an easy to use program to put photo albums on my web site. I thought I had tried them all. Wow. They didn't work or was I too stupid to figure them out. With Web Album Generator I had an album up on my website in no time. Thanks to those who made it and gave it to us free.

Overpriced and undersupported
PocoMail version 3.4
With the advent of new, free and politely supported email programs, Poco is, in fact just that -- small. That is, except for the price tag. No need to give this one a try.

Reduce your typing
TypeItIn Pro version 2.6
Extremely useful tool for auto-typing of emails, passwords, phrases and just about anything we type frequently. Saves a lot of time and is a breeze to learn.

Great extention
InFormEnter version 0.2
This is a wonderful extension for Firefox and helps you avoid Roboform -- just in case you were turned off by the way the latter "updated" their program.

Best
Weather Watcher version 5.5c
This is the best weather program I have found - freeware or shareware. For starters, from where I'm sitting (Thailand), it has international cities. Another thing that I like is that it has the heat index ("feels like")right there in the tool bar for you. This program is easy to use, light on resources and has all the weather info you need. Finally, a question to the developer was answered very promptly.

$150 in futility
Internet Business Promoter (IBP) version 4.1.5
For starters, you can't paste anything into the form fields. It must be done manually. Fill in the fields manually and you start getting messages that you didn't do this or that. Do this or that again and again and finally you end up at the beginning. Start all over again doing it manually. This would be a poor freeware program, but at $150 it is less than poor. If the program itself is this bad, imagine the results you are going to get on search engines.

Over-under
Internet Download Manager version 4.03
Over priced, over hyped and undersupported. Download Express is better and it's free.

Nasty leftovers
CDBurnerXP version 3.0.116
Can't get rid of some stuff after uninstalling. Repeatedly wants to reinstall itself when, for example, I open mp3gain or download some prgrams. I hate stuff like this. I appreciate folks making nice programs to share with others, but really, we should be able to easily and completely uninstall this stuff if it isn't our cup of tea.

Nice little program
Send To Toys version 2.3
Handy when you want to send a file or folder somewhere else and might not want to deal with copy - paste. I use this and Piky Basket both. They make my life a little easier.

Excellent but expensive
Diskeeper Pro 2010 version 9.0
Super great program if you have 50 bucks for a defrag program. Highly recommended for the well healed.

Pricey bloatware
System Mechanic version 5.0
This is a wannabee program. Exactly what it wants to be isn't clear. That it is too freaking expensive is quite clear.

Needs work
Surfpack Startpage version 1.2.97
Illogical interface. Reasonably intuitive up to a point but don't change too much or else you're in a hole that your intuition can't get you out of. Golata

At a loss
Rainlendar Lite version 0.19.3
I'm at a loss as to why so many folks dig this program. I don't want to badmouth the kind people who made the program or degrade my friend who like it. Maybe it's just different strokes. For me, though, this program doesn't come close to having what it takes. Golata

Time waster like spam
FamilyMail version 8.1
Some things are funny and others, like Spam and this program, wastes your time.

Why?
iISystem Wiper
Why do people like this program even though other programs contain the same functions(eg Tweak UI)? Because this program is small, has a single purpose and does it well. You don t have to hunt for this or try to figure out that. What you want is right there in an easy to understand and trepidation free interface. Small and simple is beautiful.

History
Ad-Aware Free
Regularly updating again and, once again, an important tool to have on your machine.

Gentle but Powerful
NoteTab Light
This is a highly intellegent program that is more than a Notepad replacement but in not bloated with needless frills. Excellent.

The best?
Stickies
Well, it is the best I ve found anyway. Much easier to grasp that AT Notes, for example.

Super
ClipMate
Do you do website work? Perhaps you copy things, forget where you put them and then wish you remembered? Would you like to clean up what you copy? Save what you copy? Move stuff around? This program does the work of at least 4 or 5 other programs and does it flawlessly. Wonderful!

Classic Hall of Fame
Yankee-Clipper
This is in a class by itself. In terms of freeware, there is nothing better. A possible shareware alternative (and even better?) is Clipmate. If you don t know about Yankee, download and never be sorry. If you don t know about Clipmate, give it a shot for a shareware program that seems to actually be worth the dough.

Awesome
Spybot - S&D
I ventured into a place I had never been and a place I knew I shouldn t have gone -- cyber-crack-keygen-serial land. I was careful. Scared even. But somehow all of this stuff -- so awful -- ended up not just spying but installing, inserting, slowing, sucking RAM and taking over my computer. I ve been a fan of SpyBot for some time, but now, I am a true believe, a follower, an apostle. Thank you SpyBot people for helping and teaching.

Better
Avant Browser
I used Crazybrowser and MyIE2 for quite awhile. They are excellent programs and I thank the folks that built them for being so generous. When I initially tried Avant, I didn t like it. I must have been in a bad mood that day or impatient. It beats two really good browsers hands down. Thanks.

Nice
Sound Control
Nice little program that gives you more control over your volume. Easy to access and easy to understand.

AOK
TuneUp Utilities 2010
Nicely done. For compulsive tuneup folks like me, I suggest that you give it a try.

Hall of Fame
ZoneAlarm
This is a wonderful program that works flawlessly. It is very intuitive. Thanks to those kind folks who make this program available free.

MR Tech Systray
Most of the bugs (bugging my computer) have been resolved and I now have the program on my machine and use it routinely.

Decent
LaunchIt NOW!
Replaced Winkey with this. Missed Winkey and went back to it but then realized I DID prefer Launch It. Got a few annoying habits -- eg, wish you could organize and the icons without so much effort. But it s fine by me even though I am waiting for some improvements.

So far so good
Dimension 4
This has been the best time sync program I have ever tried. Has worked flawlessly for several months. It also works fine with TClock, a program that belongs in the Freeware Hall of Fame for its simplicity and perfection.

Nice
vanBasco Karaoke Player
Does what I want it to do and does it very well.

OK
MP3 Tunes
This is a nice program. I use it primarily for its extra features rather than as a player which is a bit cumbersome. For a player I still haven t found anything better than Tracktor Player.

Yep
TreePad Lite
Anything you use for awhile, delete, regret it, download again and keep, deserves a pat on the back. Pretty darn good program.

Better
AM Browser
I ve come back the Crazy after using MyIE for a spell. I have nothing bad to say about the latter, but Crazy just does it a tad better -- at least to my taste. Excellent and recommended.

Super
RoboForm
When something gets to the place where you kind of depend on it and, unfortunately, almost take it for granted, then it is time to say something. This is one great program. Get It!

Great
Acoustica MP3 CD Burner
This is the best burner I have found and the support is excellent as well.

Yes but. . .
WordWeb
I agree with the comment that the extra clicking is annoying. But this is a super nice program for those who want a very handy dictionary and, in spite of the couple of extra clicks, I highly recommend it. I do, however, second the motion to minimize clicking.

Super
Yankee-Clipper
One of the best pieces of freeware ever. I have used it and depended on it for a long time. Absolutely excellent.
