Simple File Joiner helps me to find for particular words in hundreds of text files easily by joining them into one and hence it saves a lot of time. It works fine for merging any number of files. Recommended.

If this program one hundred percent protects my pc, then I would not have had my IE hijacked by spywares few weeks back. Also even using with this, the programs Spy-bot, Ad-Aware and Microsoft anti spyware are detecting few spywares regularly. But Spy-bot recommends SpywareBlaster protection as best. So it seems SpywareBlaster should be protecting the PC, but still the possibilites of spyware attacking PC cannot be avoided. Hence, SpywareBlaster, should add a notification/alert window, just like a virus program protects the pc with notifications, so that users will know the better use of SpywareBlaster.

ShirusuPad has replaced the reminder program I was using for sometime for its desktop pop up remainders and will replace my notes program if the developer includes a font selection (or a little big font) for adding notes in final version. Highly recommended.

There are many zip programs available nowadays that works good. IZArc is one among those. However, I feel, the zip file icons and the zip progress window should be better for this program. If one have too many zip files in a folder among other files, then IZArc icons seems to be overshadowing other file icons. Then 7zip option of IZArc does not seems to work all the time. Anyway for the regular needs, IZArc is better one.

I have tried many of the FTP programs listed here. None worked as easily and perfectly as DeluxeFTP for my requirement. And it is a small program compared with other. If you have to access often remote sites for files transfer, then surely this program can used.

There are many changes in this new version than to its old version. Now one can enter words easily to search and at first it loads default google results. On single clicking on the other search engines list it displays results quickly. It now has a search backet to search from any documents and also a quick search bar. This can be used for browsing as well with its simple browser. It has note pad too. It still needs some improvements with its minimise-maximise, drag and drop to search basket and few others. Recommended one. The product review needs an update.

Had a try with ICEOWS zip and unzip and cross tested with Winzip program. It just works fine. For those who just need an alternate to Winzip, then this suits that need perfectly. Its a small sized zip/unzip program having necessary features. Recommended one.

This small program works well for full screen capture. Just a click on "screen shot" will automatically saves the files with Purrint001, 002 etc names in either of pre-defined BMP, JPG or PNG formats in the directory assigned for it. Would be more useful if they add selected area screen capture as well.

Star Downloader free has simple but yet a nice and compact main window with its small toolbar icons view and can be setup very easily. It does the purpose perfectly like what a downloader program should do. Very easily integrates with IE and Firefox browsers. It provides optional virus checking after file download got over. It even unzips files by it own. Star downloader needs little enhancements. Like the unzipping should automatically create a sub folder where the file got downloaded, optional tray icon and some minor improvements. Surely this is going to compete or even replace top download manager programs.

Just tried in two PCs. It scans in a second and lists running processes, auto-start programs (both well known to me), then PCs and IE Download Program Files/Plugins. The online analyzer marks them as Good or bad or Unknown or Undetermined. Both of the PCs I run it all came as either good or undetermined and thats right. It works with floppy too. The icon needs a change as it uses and reveals another cleaner program. The real use of this program will be known if anything goes wrong and if it scans that right.

Recently had a try with AntiVir PE to find out a virus/spyware problem in my PC - XP SP1 by stopping on-access protection of Avast. AntiVIR PE detected few viruses which had been left out by Avast. AntiVir PE scans faster but one cannot do other work while AntiVIR PE is running whereas Avast allows one to work and thats why it take long time for Avast to scan. Though my system used to be fast enough, even after exiting AntiVir PE, I find the other programs starting and files opening speed have come down. This might be due to clash of two virus programs or due AntiVir PE itself. And the interface of Antivir PE, especially the scan window should be improved. Anyway, if you think your PC have problems, then AntiVir PE can be surely given a try. Recommended.

This tiny program works like Quick Launch but have additional options to open files, explore folders and have shutdown utilities too. After installing this I access most of the programs through keyboard very easily. It should also have a go button for the ease of mouse users. Anyway runfast is very useful quick launching program. Highly recommended.

Had problem with IE and IE based tabbed browser and tried Firefox and now set Firefox as my default browser. Pages are loading much faster in Firefox than as in IE or IE based tabbed browser. Firefox uses very less memory and system resource and hence the system is fast even while many pages are loading. Where as IE and IE based browser used to slow down system. While the net or site down, say during posting opinion on a site or when typing a mail, one will not loose anything with Firefox alerts. Where as one has to loose all the typed contend in IE or IE based browser. Firefox settings are simple and user friendly. Changes needed: Extensions like, Tabbroswer preferences and Tab clicking options should be included in basic setup itself. When some of the pages loading, it looks crumpled for either a fraction of second or sometimes totally. This should be rectified. Overall Firefox is highly recommended and it is, as of now, very safe to use.

Launch Tab looks attractive at the desktop with its tabbed launching interface. Only disadvantage is even if the mouse go over any of the tab the launching window opens which is unnecessary. This should be avoided. May be a mouse click or a hot key should make it active. Anyway Launch Tab is a recommended program.

Recently started using Firefox. Even though I set Firefox as default browser, while clicking on the links from few applications or mails, I saw it only loads on the old default browser. Found "Default browser" and it solved that problem. Surely have to have this "Default Browser" program when you have more than one browser installed.

Today installed Microsoft Windows Antispyware program in my system and it found 13 spyware threats, 72 spyware infected files and 35 infected registry keys which are all not detected or blocked using other top listed spyware programs. So I recommeded Microsoft Windows Antispyware to be installed in computers with other top listed spyware programs.

It is one of the smallest program available. Just 5 KB. But when I find my system clock runs faster few seconds a day and wanted to correct it, I find Neutron is more than sufficient for that work. Recommended.

WinAudit gives all the information about a system clearly in a reading-friendly format. Before starting the program if you uncheck "system libraries DLL" in the options then Winaudit presents the report with rest of infos in just very few seconds. Though the interface does not look so attractive it works really well. Very useful one.

There are many programs available for getting IP address of a computer. Bitsoft ShowIP is better one among those. It shows IP addresses, both LAN & WAN, in a compact window. But I think the tray icon should be a optional one for this type of programs. Anyway its not an issue. Recommended one.

I have tried for a simple program to use alternate to windows uninstaller. MyUninstaller is that one. Its very small and no installation. It gives many infos about the program (entry name) installed. But I unchecked all those and keeping only entry names (program names) to have a compact window. Yet one can get all the infos about a program on a separate window by clicking on it. Recommended one.

This is good email program with entirely different interface when compared to normal email programs. It works with floppy and supports multiple accounts. However I experienced server disconnection problems while using this one when keeping it active. Excluding this, Pimmy is good one.

Easy Go Back is better than Bumper. Easy Go back works with tabbed browsers (its works with Green Browser too) and immediate previous page and immediate next page browsing is possible with Easy Go Back. Apart it has features for refresh, stop, close etc.. with mouse gesture. Better One.

If you have hundreds of favorites then surely it will be a tough task to remember each of them unless otherwise they have been organised in sub directories or something like that. Alphabetical Bookmark Collector does the work in arranging all the favorites in alphabetical order. So one can name similar sites with same starting alphabet so that the sites will be grouped and can be easily accessed/opened. The default background color is not looking good but can be changed to set to have windows default background. Highly recommended.

Almost all the tabbed browsers have built in pop-up blocker. But even then I find MYPopupKiller is needed to close highly annoying web page dialogs with its aggressive mode. Its small file with no installation. Works fine.

Wordweb is best than other dictionaries for me in the sense that it works offline that is from its own database. It gives meaning, synonyms, antonyms, parts and many others in compact tabbed viewable format. In rare case if the word does not exists, then one can use its look on the web link. Highly Recommended one for all.

Actually I find photofiltre when I was searching for a program to do some immediate scanning of some my documents. After installed it I didnt stop with scanning alone but I made Photofiltre as default image viewer. A free program with so many features and small size compared with similar programs. Highly Recommended.

Metapad replaced Notepad for me by three of its many features viz its toolbars, recent files list and hyper link support. It has many useful features but I think this should have email link support too. Nothing to recommend becoz once you use one time you will automatically switch over to Metapad.

I find it useful for me to unzip files from various formats like zip, rar, tar etc. It only zips file to 7z format and not to regular zip format which is not so good for common use. Anyway it works well to unzip files.

This is good for checking web mails like lycos, yahoo, hotmail, rediff etc. It not only checks for new mails but also lists all the mails even if there are hundreds in a account. This support HTML mails and attachments too. If it has individual reply option from each account then it would be a great program. At present sending/replying mail from one POP3 account is possible. Recommended as good email notification program.

This is the fastest and easiest way to check weather with current conditions, hourly and daily forecasts along with forecast in detail. It uses weather.com data but browsing all of the above forecast information in weather.com is really time consuming one. Very useful program.

This program just adds a manifest file and gives XP style for whatever programs that does not have XP style in my PC. No harm and nothing else altered to the programs. XP Style Hacker really works and it is the easiest way.

I was using a spyware program and for one of it prompt I clicked yes then only to see my internet connection lost. WinSock Fix helped to retrieve orginal settings. A must have one importantly along with spyware programs.

The interface looks really very good than other email clients. But so many disadvantages. The main window does not itself includes mail folders and since there are two rows of tool bars. If you want to reply or sent mail you have to use full window or if you make it minimized then the main mail folder window also getting minimized. No draft mail folder in mail folders window, but have to access it from menu. Preferences and settings.. again, one has to put so much time to learn things. Its really a good program exclusively for its interface and it has few features which all are not available with other email clients.

Mr Tech systray, as the product name says has so many features which gives easier access to so many functions of a computer. I like mainly it to use for two purposes often. One to shut down immediately my computer and the other to uninstall programs, which is real fast. And it has internet cleaning, system tweaking, etc...etc. I have been using for a long time now without looking for another similar program. Very useful one.

I was having two-mind whether to install Avast in my pc or not. After installed, Avast find many virus files all from system directories which are all not detected by the previous virus scanner I have used. Avast even detects virus when Spybot or Ad-Aware running. But why avast left it to detect only these two programs running. Anyway avast detects and even this was failed with other virus scanner. Two issues with Avast are 1.it eats memory and slows down system, a little 2. no option for automatic-timely update. Over all for good protection of PC, Avast is HIGHLY recommended than whatever virus scanners available.

I have tried Fast Defrag Standard too with my XP. But it defragments i.e frees memory acutely than any other programs. After it defragments the free RAM level goes very high. Not sure about whether it is good for RAM or not for longer run. The interface also not so looking good. May be used.

I don't know how I missed this program. Recently I have installed in my PC and it seems it works very fine. It has very simple interface with necessary options for freeing memory and one can surely ask why other programs have so much in it. Now I am using FreeRAM Optimizer XP along with FreeRAM XP. Both running in automatic mode but I manually free memory using a hotkey for FreeRAM Optimizer. It works relatively well and now the memory level is at it best.

I had been having low memory (RAM) problem with my XP and often saw windows alert about adjusting page file but it does not look like a good solution. Searched for memory freeing programs and found FreeRAM XP. Now I have been using for a long time and its working well with my system. I like the interface with RAM and LOAD display. Keeps memory free at good level and nowadays I don't get any windows alert about page file. Recommended for XP.

Nothing much needed to say or recommend about ePrompter anyway let me say little. I use more than one id with each email provider and it is only possible with ePrompter to check all them at once and reply so fast. It automatically checks at user defined time intervals and if there are no mails it tells in less than one minute for even more than 10 ids. And it has a common address book to use with all ids. The only drawback is it does not support attachments but who needs attachments for all regular mails. A Gem and Time saver program. Highly recommended. Should be rated 5 Stars.

If I can compare and say from my favorite programs it does partly as Disk cleaner with added features for Internet and temp file clean and partly as Regseeker for cleaning registry temp files. Internet and temp file cleaning is good. But registry clean is not as efficient as Regseeker but it does it to the maximum. Also it has additional tools for uninstalling programs. Well.. a multipurpose utility. Recommended.

After installing Instant File Name Search (IFNS) I am rarely using windows search. The basic difference from windows search to IFNS is it scans first and then lists all files. Or even the start up scan can be disabled if you have not added any new files and it will list hundreds of files in a flash. After installing IFNS, I am accessing my regular files like doc or pdf or whatever through this. Scan can be done as needed and it has database so that one can set relevant directory for optional use. From the list of files it only allows to open the file. Copy, rename, deletion and all not possible which might be a drawback. Thats ok.. this program works well for my needs. Recommended.

I often browse documents in Google and need to open PDF files online. It was very hectic to wait for acrobat reader to open and close on each time. I have find two programs to solve this problem. One of the two is PDF Speedup. Before started using PDF SpeedUP I have been using another program. The difference I could find in between the both is PDF speedup does it fast while closing acrobat reader (i.e coming back to search page of Google), the other program (not listed in web attack now) does it fast while opening it. But I could not use both of them at the same time. Anyway PDF Speedup is truly reduces the time as it says. A recommended one who needs to browse PDF files online.

Certainly a real internet and temp cleaner. I have used so many internet cleaning programs but none works as good and fast as Disk Cleaner with my XP. I like the interface which is quiet different from normal XP programs. Also I think Disk Cleaner should be listed under Internet Cleaning tools rather than in Disk Cleanup. Highly recommended one and I feel it should be rated more than 4 stars.

I have been installing and uninstalling a lot of programs in my computer which I felt have slowed down the system a little becoz of the accumulation of garbage files in registry over a long time. I was not so sure about how and which program to use to clean them perfectly. I have tried few programs and finally ended up with RegSeeker. The programs which I have used earlier to RegSeeker seemed to clean hundreds of files from registry but RegSeeker have still found and deleted more than 800 hundred files. Now I am using it regularly. It is a small sized program and does not require installation and even beginners of computer can use to keep their system registry clean. A Highly recommended program for all.

Well.. I have recommended Starter and Startup Delayer both combined to have effective control over startup of programs. But both failed to disable two of unnecessary programs starting with windows in my pc. Even after I disabled/deleted I saw those two unnecessary programs starting again in next startup. I have tried most of the other start up programs in web attack. But I find solution only with Startup Control Panel. After install, one need to go to Control Panel to access it. However as I wanted to have access often, I have moved this from control panel to a folder. Try this you will find it useful. I recommend this to all along with Starter and Startup Delayer.

To have control over windows startup programs I find Starter as a best solution for it. Latter I find Startup Delayer as a much more useful tool to start programs without mess between them and find Startup Delayer increases speed of startup by two to three fold. However still I am using Starter to first to start my virus scanner and then startup delayer-which controls all other programs- and I prefer both to work in that way. So I recommend Starter but along with Startup delayer so that you will find it more effective solution for most of startup problems.

Can like this program for its simple interface, downloading option i.e where to save and speed of downloading. So I recommend anyone to use this one for downloading files from websites. However when it comes to downloading files from email like yahoo, Hotmail etc it does not decodes/saves the file types correctly. So have to use regular windows save option by using SHIFT key while clicking on download links from emails. If the developer rectifies this bug then it can be a excellent download manager.

I preferred Green Browser since it works as stand alone and does not need any installation unlike other tabbed browsers. Apart I think every tabbed browsers are one and the same working based on IE except minor changes in the interface. So I am using it for a year now.

I am having many programs to start during startup with my XP machine and saw it took lot of time to get loaded on each startups. This was only until I find Startup delayer. Now I have given the required time interval between each programs (just few seconds) and arranged the startup of programs in the order I want. Really a useful tool and I recommend who are all having problems with startup mess of programs.

I was using Ad-aware for quiet some time and thought there cant be other program like this until I saw Spybot. After I installed Spybot in my PC I saw it has detected so many spywares/adwares which are all not detected using Ad-aware and hence I uninstalled Ad-aware. I did the vice-versa recently i.e reinstalled Ad-aware again after six months and find very few spywares have been detected by this Ad-aware which are not detected by Spybot. But yet I feel Spybot does it much better than Ad-aware. So I recommend Spy-bot as main program with Ad-aware as alternate to use at times.

Actually I have tried iScribe first some eight months back and was not impressed much. Now the developer of this email program has come with a lot of good changes and when I tried recently I felt I have got the right program for managing my emails. The program is so simply designed with small size around 1 MB after unzip but yet have attractive look and excellent features and can be had in a USB disk. The unique features of this program are deleting attachments in a email or folder, adding contacts address from a folder, new mail notification and preview which are all impressive. Apart it has the much needed spam filter too. It still have very minor bugs but the developer seems to update all one by one but in a fast way. I would highly recommend this to all. Worth to use it.
