Go for avant
Maxthon version 1.1.090
This is a excellent competitor to Firefox or IE. Yet, its interface is more clumsy and complex than either. For a fast, safe, feature-rich browser, select AVANT

Firefox on aol steroids
Netscape Navigator version 7.1
Basically integrates IM, email, and web-browsing into a single package. Still has problems with several sites that rely on IE engine specifics. This uses way too many system resources to remain in my software library. AVANT is the VERY best browser period. Firefox is a close second. IE and Netscape would tie for a distant third.

Sets the standard
Internet Explorer version 6.0 SP1
Every browser release from Avant thru Netscape (including Mozilla and Firefox) compares performance issues against what is perceived to be Microsoft's inadequacies. The Web just looks and functions better on IE (if you are using a Windows box). Never count on your browser alone for security or privacy. Get a good firewall, use an excellent and up-to-date anti-virus, and run frequent spyware checks (no matter which browser is your fav). If I were setting up another box on the LAN, I would strongly consider Linux and Mozilla, but IE is my main browser (for now).

Great tool
Fresh UI version 7.18
Especially for Windows 9.X users, this can extend the life of your operating system (at least for a little while longer). If you're not quite ready for the $$ "jump" to XP, and are not comfortable with the Linux options, this can give your old OS new life (with the right settings).

Decent html editor
TSW WebCoder version 5.02
You can get a better HTML tool (Dreamweaver and Front Page), but you'll have to pay the big $$'s for them. More than sufficient for an occasional Web Page build.

Excellent browser
Avant Browser version 9.02 Build 101
The very Best Way to experience the Internet!! I have test IE6, MyIE2, Firefox, Mozilla, and Opera...This one leaves all the rest behind (the closest is IE 6 w/Yahoo Companion). Excellent features and compatibility. (If you are going Linux, I would strongly suggest Mozilla).

Best open source browser
Mozilla version 1.7.2
This product is a great Browser in it's own right. The speed is nearly as fast as IE (especially if you select the "Install Browser Only" option). Thunderbird is a better standalone email client than the integrated tool. An excellent option (especially if Microsoft has even more security problems).

Excellent plug-in
RoboForm version 6.0.5
This is a better tool than Mozilla's "Form Filler". It allows one the functionality to automatically save logins and form information without having to change browsers.
