MWSnap version 3.0.0.74
  • Interface: 5
  • Features: 3
  • Ease of use: 5
  • Value: 5
  • Overall: 4

This program was perfect for me except for ONE drawback -- The selection of hotkeys was too limiting. I wanted to assign the auto-save to *PrtScn*, not to a combination of *Shift*, *Ctrl*, or *Alt* and function keys. (Because in gaming, ALL of the best keys are already mapped) ... So I switched to FastStone Capture and am happy.

FastStone Capture version 5.1
  • Interface: 4
  • Features: 5
  • Ease of use: 5

  • Overall: 5

My screen capture needs are few and simple -- A simple, no fuss application and an auto-saving feature assigned to the *PrtScn* key. Previously, I had been using MWSnap, but it limited my choice of hotkeys to only the alphabet and function keys in combination with *Shift*, *Crtl*, and *Alt*. (In gaming, the BEST keys are already mapped and a combination hotkey screensave is awkward and too slow) FastStone Capture allowed me to delegate the handy *PrtScn* to auto-saving!
